Suwon Station Western restaurant: steak pilaf lunch at Rolling Pasta

Bringing you a Suwon Station food find for the first time in a while! I went back to Rolling Pasta, a place I'm sure a lot of you have tried before, and it was still amazingly good value. The prices and the relaxed vibe make it perfect for eating solo too, haha. Let's get into it!

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is on the 2nd floor at 2 Hyanggyo-ro 1beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, just 1 minute on foot from Suwon Station Exit 7. It's open from 11:00 to 21:30, with last order at 21:00.

Inside Rolling Pasta: seating and the solo-dining mood

I've been to Rolling Pasta many times before, but this was my first time at the Suwon Station branch! I was honestly surprised by how big the space was as soon as I walked in. Beyond the tables up front, there was a huge amount of seating in the inner space too. It was a weekday lunch hour, but there were still quite a few customers — and a lot of them were eating solo!

See the images above for the full menu and prices. There were a ton of main dish options — pasta, risotto, pilaf, salad, pizza, steak — plus a really wide range of sides, salads, and drink/alcohol options.

Given today's prices, I found it genuinely cheap and really satisfying. These days even lunch can run you tens of thousands of won without thinking, but Rolling Pasta has plenty of menu items under ₩10,000, so it feels approachable for students, office workers, anyone, haha.

Beyond the affordable set menus, they're also running a small event where a different item gets ₩1,000 off each weekday. Already cheap, plus extra discounts — pure great-value pasta place energy.

What you can grab at the self bar

My favorite corner, the self bar, haha. Pickles are non-negotiable when I'm eating Western food, so being able to scoop your own is so nice. Small plates, water, napkins, cutlery — just take whatever you need from the self bar.

Coleslaw for ₩700

I added the coleslaw as a side dish for ₩700. It arrived in a super mini portion, haha, but it was fresh and crunchy, tamed the spice when things got hot, and cleaned the palate after anything rich. Pure ₩700 happiness.

The full table for just over ₩20,000, drinks included

Ta-da — after a short wait, the food arrived! Just look at those colors. I couldn't believe this whole spread came out to just over ₩20,000 (including the drink that came later). Cheap didn't mean small portions either — great taste and generous amounts, haha, love that.

Steak pilaf at Rolling Pasta

First up, the steak pilaf! It was marked as a best-seller so I ordered it, and it really was good enough that I finished every last bite. Thick steak stir-fried together with a variety of vegetables in a light, savory pilaf — it's their best-menu item, and the fluffy rice paired with the chewy, clean-tasting steak was just so good (there's a surprisingly generous amount of steak in there too). Eating it alongside the spicy pasta was an absolute dream combo.

Pache pasta: how spicy is the soup pasta really?

Next, the slightly spicy soup pasta called pache! It's a spicy, clean-tasting soup pasta loaded with seafood in a tomato base, and apparently their best pasta menu item.

I love a good spicy soup pasta so I ordered it, but there was more peperoncino in there than I expected and the spicy aroma hit hard, so I fished out all the peppers before eating, haha. After that it was totally manageable! Just the right heat for a spice lightweight like me. Eating it with the pilaf and garlic bread I ordered alongside was perfect.

Garlic stick bread

The garlic stick bread I ordered as a side! I expected a firmer, crustier style of garlic bread, but it turned out to be a completely soft, fluffy stick-style garlic bread, which was a nice surprise. It was great dipped deep into the pasta sauce for a spicy-sweet combo, and just as good eaten plain since it's sweet on its own — I kept reaching for more, haha.

Peach lemon iced tea

The final touch — peach lemon iced tea! I thought, peach is peach, lemon is lemon, what's peach lemon supposed to be — but it turned out to just be tasty plus tasty. Ultimate sweet-tooth combo. I want another one already, hahaha.

Final verdict: who should eat at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch

It's right by Suwon Station so it's super accessible, and I'd recommend it whenever you're craving good, affordable Western food like pasta, pizza, or steak without breaking the bank. It works well for dates, casual meals with friends, or eating solo — if you're looking for a casual pasta spot you can drop into anytime, definitely give this one a try!
