I wanted a romantic weekday outing with my partner, and I wanted the food to be elegant and delicious too. After searching for a long time, I picked Low Five Anguk, a wood-fired pizza and Western restaurant near Anguk Station.

The European-style interior is the kind nobody dislikes. The sauces and ingredients had real personality and you could tell it was handmade cooking, not a meal kit, and the freshly baked wood-fired pizza was delicious. Then there was the pasta that made my eyes go wide. Personally, I'd count it among the best Western restaurants around Anguk Station. I'll walk you through opening hours, parking, how to reserve, the interior, the food and who I'd recommend it to, mixing my own subjective feelings with objective information.
Low Five Anguk opening hours and parking near Anguk Station
Low Five Anguk is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30–21:00 (last order 19:30), with a break from 15:00 to 17:00. It is closed on Mondays.

If you're driving, the two closest options are the Anguk Station Exit 4 parking lot and Turu Parking Anguk Station Jongno Gwanhun branch. Both charge ₩3,000 per 30 minutes, so think ₩6,000 for 60 minutes, ₩12,000 for 120 minutes, and so on. We took the subway, came out of Anguk Station Exit 2 and walked straight up for about 3 minutes, and the restaurant was right there, so it was easy to find.
How to join the Low Five Anguk waitlist on Catch Table
Low Five Anguk really does have a wait even on weekdays, so joining the remote waitlist on the Catch Table app is the fastest way in. You can also join through Catch Table on site, but remote is faster.

- Same-day lunch: tickets handed out at 11:05 a.m., waiting time assigned at 11:40
- Same-day dinner: tickets handed out at 4:35 p.m., waiting time assigned at 5:10
- Your slot is cancelled automatically once 8 minutes have passed
On weekends especially, I think using the remote waitlist actively will help a lot in getting seated quickly.
Low Five Anguk interior and the most comfortable seats
The outside of Low Five Anguk is an old-fashioned European-style brick building, and inside it's vintage European, decorated with daylight-toned lighting, marble-look tables and wood floors.

Even the windows seen from outside carry the concept well and feel full of charm.

Once you step inside, you can see the whole place is done in a vintage European style: elegant daylight lighting, classy marble-look tables, vintage wood floors, and plant décor that adds accents while keeping things tidy.
There were plenty of 4-person tables and group tables, and plenty of 2-person seats too. One tip: the seats at the very far end, where we sat, have soft cushioned sofa-style seating, so you can eat more comfortably, which I liked.

Low Five Anguk menu and QR ordering

We ordered the corn pizza from the wood-fired pizzas, the shrimp spicy rigatoni for pasta, the Caesar salad, and Stella for beer. Let me go through them one by one.

How fast did the food come out at Low Five Anguk?
Right after we ordered, water in a pretty bottle and jalapeño pickles came out first, then the Caesar salad in 2 minutes, and everything was out in under 6 minutes. Even though the dishes are made from scratch, you could feel that, like a popular place should, they have everything prepped right at opening and send it out fast. It was a weekday and I had packed the rest of the day with plans, so I really liked how quickly the food came.

What does Low Five's corn pizza taste like?
The corn pizza, which felt like Low Five Anguk's signature, seemed to me to have truffle sauce, garlic sauce and mushroom sauce, with corn, mushrooms, onion, shrimp and bacon.

First you get the mild sweetness and aroma of lightly processed whole corn, then the rich, nutty creaminess of the luxurious sauces, with garlic, truffle, mushroom and cheese sauces working together so the fragrance hits your nose. Then it all arrives in your mouth at once: the fire-kissed dough, the salty, savory, melting natural cheese, and the textures of mushroom, onion, shrimp and bacon. Salty and sweet, with all kinds of aromas and flavors swirling, it's the kind of flavor where your nostrils flare and you close your eyes.

The pizza crust (the kkodari, the end bit) was fine on its own, with a nice smoky char and plain savoriness, but dipped deep in the shrimp spicy rigatoni sauce it gave me a personal "this is happiness" moment.

Shrimp spicy rigatoni: why dip the pizza crust in the sauce
The first reason the shrimp spicy rigatoni stuck with me is the texture. It was a little different from penne: chewier, and thanks to the wide surface the very end bites just slightly al dente and firm, leaving a nutty flavor, while the sauce was packed inside.
The rosé sauce flavor looked a little different from the usual tomato-and-cream kind. Picture fresh cream with a red seasoning that smells strongly of chili, a little tomato added, the heat turned off, a fair amount of pepper added, and finally an uncooked egg yolk stirred in. The reason I describe it this way is that it was a flavor I'd never had before and it was so appealing that my eyes went round.

It was good with the thick bacon and button mushrooms mixed in, but I think I liked it best with the plump, salty, pepper-scented shrimp on top.

Low Five Anguk Caesar salad: what's in it and how it tastes
We were told to squeeze the lemon over the whole Caesar salad at Low Five Anguk.

I think it had romaine lettuce, bacon, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, red onion, capers and tomato inside.

Overall the cheese flavor was strong, there seemed to be a little something like fish sauce giving a tangy, salty umami, and there was a lot of olive oil too. I'd describe it as tangy, nutty, umami and salty at the front, with the aromas of the various vegetables blending in harmony. Best of all, it comes out fast at the start and whets the appetite, so with the three dishes working so well together, I felt glad we ordered several.

The match with the Stella beer, served in an ice-cold glass, as a drinking snack was lovely too.

We didn't need anything extra, but if you want hot sauce, water or plates, you can grab them from the self-service corner.
