I went the moment break time ended, and the place was already packed?!

What's on the menu at Milyang Dol Jjamppong?
📋 Menu

The signature dish is scorched-rice stone-plate jjamppong and jajangmyeon, served sizzling on a stone plate heated to 250°C. It's apparently the first in the country to skip starch in the jajangmyeon, giving it a clean, rich flavor, paired with a smoky-flavored jjamppong sitting over savory scorched rice.
On top of that there's handmade donttang and chitang — freshly prepped ingredients fried crisp to order the day of — an assorted 3-kind steamed mandu with shrimp, galbi, and meat to choose from, and even a kids' jajangmyeon.
The main dishes can be adjusted for spice level to taste. So whether you love spicy food or you're visiting with kids, everyone can enjoy it.

🍜 Order
Luckily the food came out faster than expected, so we could dig in right away haha 😆

We ordered the signature squid stone-plate jjamppong.

For reference, the stone-plate jjamppong isn't served in a regular bowl — it comes out on a stone plate heated red-hot, so it stays warm the whole time you're eating.

It arrives sizzling and bubbling, which I loved visually. Give it a little time and that smoky, spicy broth really soaks into the chewy noodles for a deep flavor. The squid inside is nice and plump, and overall the portion is huge.

The best order to eat stone-plate jjamppong, down to the scorched rice
Tips to get 100% out of your stone-plate jjamppong

As shown on the sign posted in the restaurant, here's the best way to eat stone-plate jjamppong. First, mix the crunchy bean sprouts and noodles evenly, then snip everything into bite-sized pieces with scissors.
After that, portion it out onto your own plate about three times as you go, and finally, scrape up every bit of the savory, crispy scorched rice stuck to the bottom of the 250°C stone plate — that's the perfect finish.

Rice comes with unlimited refills during the meal, so you can enjoy as much as you want, making it doubly filling.

The restaurant's self-serve corner has basic side dishes plus green onion kimchi ready to go.
+ If you join the receipt review event, you get a refreshing ade as a service item — definitely grab that if you visit.

Pairing Milyang Dol Jjamppong with Yeongnamnu and Wiyangji, plus the dessert corner
For anyone looking for good food in Milyang or a solid spot near Milyang City Hall, I recommend Milyang Dol Jjamppong. It's perfect as a stop on a Yeongnamnu Pavilion food course to help digest afterward, or when you're looking for a good place to eat near Wiyangji Pond in Milyang.

Once you finish your stone-plate jjamppong, there's a dessert corner set up on one side of the restaurant. Coffee, candy, and yogurt are ready to freshen up your palate after the meal, so you can end on a good note all the way through.
That said, this place is so popular that if you visit late, the yogurt can run out early. If you want the perfect palate cleanser with a tasty dessert, I'd recommend grabbing it on your way out after eating ✨
