Bucheon café: brewed coffee, 2cm Belgian Deep Choco loaf, Easy White

When you're thinking about your health you should cut back on flour… and yet some days you are just desperately craving bread, right? T_T My constant dilemma is "if I'm going to eat it anyway, I want one really good loaf." Today's story is about a Sinjung-dong café that nailed both the coffee and the bread: Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong (이지화이트브레드 부천신중동점), haha.

The loaf I found while going in for coffee

I didn't go to Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong for bread at first, I went for coffee. But the loaves on display caught my eye right away, so there was no way I was leaving with just a coffee, lol.

Is saengsikppang (생식빵) unfamiliar to anyone? It literally means bread that tastes good eaten as is, without toasting or spreading jam on it. It's a sandwich-style loaf you eat plain.

Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong: location and info

Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong is at 272 Gilju-ro, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi (Unit 113), and it's open until 9 PM. Takeout and reservations both work, and there's Wi-Fi inside. Being open until 9 PM makes it a handy stop on the way home from work.

The listing doesn't mention parking, so if you're driving, I'd suggest calling before you visit.

What kind of brand is Easy White Bread?

Easy White Bread is a bakery café brand specializing in saengsikppang, from Bonif (본아이에프). I heard the loaf was originally the signature item of Easy Brewing Coffee, and they grew it into its own brand. They say they use AOP-certified French butter and animal-based cream, and bake the loaves fresh at set times every day.

The full menu has 32 items, so choosing is half the fun. This time I ordered a half Golden Beurre loaf, a half Belgian Deep Choco loaf and a special-bean brewed coffee 👇

How do you choose the slice thickness?

At Easy White Bread you can pick your slice thickness yourself from 1.5cm, 2cm or 2.5cm. That was my favorite thing here. I went with a safe 2cm. Next time I want to buy a Whole loaf and try it at 2.5cm!

By the way, they say the loaf tastes best on the day you buy it, torn apart along the grain. Leftovers keep in the freezer for up to 2 weeks, they say.

How were the brewed coffee and the loaves?

Brewed coffee (special beans)

The special-bean brewed coffee at Easy White Bread was nutty and full of flavor. It's been a while since I had a properly good coffee, so it really lifted my mood, haha. I thought it was just a bakery, but with coffee this good I'd happily call it a top Sinjung-dong café.

Belgian Deep Choco loaf

The Belgian Deep Choco loaf is packed with chocolate and yet, amazingly, it tasted clean and not heavy. If you love chocolate, you'll really love this.

Golden Beurre loaf

The Golden Beurre loaf, true to its signature status, tastes like something nobody could dislike! The texture was soft with a rich, upscale flavor, and tearing it apart layer by layer on the same day, a subtle sweetness came first, followed by a deep nuttiness.

What makes Easy White Bread different from other bakeries?

The decisive difference is that you can tailor the bread to your own taste. Since you pick the thickness, the same loaf can be enjoyed differently, and it's good even with nothing spread on it, so you really taste the bread itself.

The packaging is classy too, so it works well as a gift. There are actually gift sets: Set 1 is two Half loaves or one Whole loaf, and Set 2 is a loaf plus two jars of handmade butter jam.
