Where is Quokka Bite?
I visited Quokka Bite (쿼카바이트) while looking for a filling handmade burger restaurant around Gongdeok and Daehung-dong. The address is 11 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It is near Sogang University, so I thought it would be a good stop for a lunch or dinner plan nearby.

What are the indoor and outdoor seats like?
The space was divided into outdoor and indoor seating. It was a setup that made it easy to choose a seat depending on the weather or my preference.

The quokka decorations caught my eye even from outside. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and I thought it would be nice to eat a burger in the breeze once the heat eased a little.

How do you order, and how much are the burgers?
There was a menu board in front of the restaurant, so I could look over the menu before going in. I ordered at the kiosk inside. When it is busy, deciding on the menu outside first may be convenient.

The original post listed individual burgers at ₩9,900–₩13,900. The prices by menu item are below.
- Grilled Quokka Burger ₩9,900, Grilled Quokka Double ₩13,900
- Quokka Crispy Chicken ₩9,900, Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken ₩10,900
- Whole Shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger ₩11,900
- Quokka Crispy Chicken Set ₩13,900, Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Set ₩14,900
- Whole Shrimp Quokka Shrimp Burger Set ₩15,900
- Homemade Chicken Tenders (2) ₩5,000, Homemade Hot Chicken Tenders (2) ₩6,000

Is there anything to look at besides the meal?
Inside, there were quokka-themed decorations throughout the space. Quokka-related merchandise was also for sale, which was fun to browse before or after eating.

There was also a photo-zone mirror on the way to the restroom. The restaurant was neatly kept overall, and on a hot day like the one I visited, I felt it would be comfortable to eat indoors.

I was also given a quokka hand fan that day. The same character carried through from the interior to the merchandise and hand fan, making the restaurant concept memorable.

Is the double cheeseburger set filling?
I ordered the Quokka Double Cheeseburger Set and the Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Burger.

My set included a burger, thick-cut fries, and Zero Cola. A hash brown was also served as a service item.

The double cheeseburger was thick, with two patties. As soon as I received it, I thought it would make for a filling meal.

With the first bite, the patty felt juicy and there was plenty of cheese. The melted cheese between the patties was even spilling out the side. When I cut it in half, it was full of toppings, and the bun, patty, and cheese together tasted rich and savory.

The fries were thicker than thin French fries. They were crisp outside and fluffy inside, making them a good match for the burger.
Is the Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Burger very spicy?
Next, I had the Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Burger.

Because of the name, I expected it to be quite spicy, but it was less spicy than I expected for my taste. Before the heat, I noticed the crisp coating and sauce. The chicken used thigh meat, so it was tender and moist inside.

When I took a bite, I could feel both the crispness of the coating and the tender texture of the chicken. It also had cabbage and pickles, whose crunch and tang cut through the richness of the fried chicken and sauce.

I ate it to the end without feeling much burden from the spice. More than intense heat, I remembered the crisp yet moist texture of the chicken.
What was the service hash brown like?
The hash brown I received as a service item that day was quite large. It came out warm and had a nice crisp texture.

What kind of meal is it suited for?
The double cheeseburger was filling with the rich flavor of patty and cheese, while the hot chicken burger worked well with its crisp chicken, cabbage, and pickles. With its neat space and quokka decorations and merchandise to browse, I felt it would suit a casual meal with a friend or a meal during a date around Gongdeok and Daehung-dong.
