I went to a really-good-vibes Seongsu restaurant today. It genuinely felt like Waikiki (I've never been to Waikiki, but still). Even on a random weekday in Seongsu, the weather was gorgeous and the window seats had such a great mood — I had such a satisfying meal at Soi Nana, a Thai restaurant in Seongsu. Let's get into it!!

How do you get to Soi Nana Seongsu?
Soi Nana Seongsu is on the ground floor of a shopping building — from Seongsu Station Exit 2, walk straight until you see Ppyeotanjip, turn there, and head inside. Straight ahead until you spot Ppyeotanjip~ straight toward you~ then turn and you'll find Soi Nana just like this.

Soi Nana's window seats and weekday lunch rush hours
The window seats at Soi Nana Seongsu are perfect for eating with music playing on a nice day. The weather's been so good lately that sitting here to eat felt like a mini getaway, honestly so nice...
And I called it a Seongsu lunch spot haha but here's a tip to enjoy it better!!! Come outside the 11:30am–12:40pm window and you'll get to enjoy the pretty space with a lot more breathing room lol. There seem to be a lot of offices nearby, since seats run out at lunchtime.

Here's what the 4-person tables inside look like. I got lucky and scored a window seat!

Ugh, if I'd known it'd be like this I'd have ordered a beer.

How do you order at Soi Nana?
Soi Nana Seongsu takes orders via kiosk. I tried really hard to photograph the menu, but the kiosk screen kept losing focus so those shots were a total wash ㅜ haha. So I'll show you the menu I pulled from Naver instead.

I agonized over the thumbnail, but this photo felt like it captured Soi Nana's vibe best, so I picked it! So pretty... makes me want a mai tai... ugh (never actually had one lol).

How was Soi Nana's poo pad pong curry?
Soi Nana's crab curry comes with fried soft-shell crab in a curry that was nicely thick and rich with a bit of a kick. Overall, the frying at Soi Nana felt kind of rough-and-crispy!, like it's meant to be cut with scissors haha.

You cut it up nicely like this to eat. Since it's soft-shell crab, it's easy to chew through, haha.

Load up the crab with the curry sauce and eat! The sauce was nicely thick and rich with a bit of spice, which I liked. This was also the first crab curry I've had with this many things packed in — carrots, onion, and cherry tomatoes. Vegetables are precious for someone living alone, so I made sure to eat them all.

Soi Nana lemon cream shrimp: price and taste
Soi Nana's lemon cream shrimp is 5 pieces for ₩10,900, 10 pieces for ₩22,000. It comes on a bed of arugula and other greens with a bit of pineapple and cherry tomatoes, and you squeeze the lemon on the side over it before eating.

Honestly, did anyone else expect the usual round fried balls you get with 'cream shrimp'? That was me. They fry each shrimp individually, so the shrimp meat is delicious and the frying is amazing too... The lemon sauce isn't overly sweet either — solid!

Eat the greens too! Overall nothing was overpowering — it was just delicious.

What makes Soi Nana's coconut shrimp different?
Soi Nana's coconut shrimp is fried first, then dusted with coconut powder afterward, so the coconut aroma really comes through directly. This was the last dish — turned out to be a whole shrimp party!

It's similar to tod mun goong but a bit different — coconut shrimp is usually coated in coconut powder before frying, right? Soi Nana fries it first, then sprinkles the coconut powder on after. It was a style of coconut shrimp I'd never had before, and the upside is the coconut aroma hits you directly, so it's fragrant and delicious! Because I am, and I cannot stress this enough, obsessed with coconut,,,, haha.

The shrimp meat was so plump too, I ate it very happily!
Is Soi Nana Seongsu worth a return visit?
Soi Nana Seongsu is a pretty place with a great atmosphere, the staff were really, really kind, and every dish was delicious — I ate very happily. This felt like a place I'd come back to next time I'm in Seongsu! I'll definitely revisit haha.
