Seongdong Italian restaurant lunch with wine and beef tartare: Sedici

The weather lately has been just perfect for dates! And since we’re planning to move abroad at the end of the year, we’re trying to go on lots of dates this year~? Somehow, that has meant we’ve been going to Seongsu-dong a lot lately. We try a new good restaurant every time my husband and I go, and it’s surprisingly fun~ This time, we visited Sedici near Seongsu Station!! Restaurants with parking around Seongsu are rare, but Sedici has parking!!

Why I recommend Sedici for pasta in Seongsu

For anyone looking for great pasta in Seongsu, I recommend Sedici as a Seongsu restaurant!! First of all, I recommend it because the food wasn’t overly intense and really let the ingredients’ natural flavors come through—and the parking made it even better!!

Sedici location, parking, and hours

📍 Sedici 37 Seongsui-ro 22-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea It’s about a six-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2, so it’s an easy location to walk to!! We happened to have something to do nearby, so we left our car in a paid parking lot before visiting—but Sedici has parking!! Definitely keep that in mind before you go~ Hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 11:30–22:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:30.

Flavorful without being overpowering

But honestly, at a restaurant, flavor matters more than the atmosphere and all that, right? The flavors were just so good!! Nothing was too intense, but it wasn’t bland either—it felt like each dish was made to bring out the ingredients’ natural flavors really well. So much food when eating out these days is strongly seasoned, but Sedici wasn’t like that, and I loved it~

The seasoning itself wasn’t aggressively salty either; it was just perfectly, pleasantly delicious!! Because it wasn’t salty, we could enjoy it all the way through without feeling weighed down~ I had the beef tartare with extra brioche, plus the Chodang corn fried gnocchi and shrimp crumble pasta!! And you can’t overlook the visuals. The food was really pretty when it came out. You could immediately tell they’d put a lot of thought into the plating!! It was fun to photograph, too.

The beef tartare came in a chilled bowl, and it was so pretty; when I ate it, it had this fragrant quality? And interestingly, it included gim pesto—gim is roasted seaweed—so it had such an appealing flavor! My husband and I took one bite and our eyes got huge, hahaha.

I had really high expectations for the Chodang corn fried gnocchi, and thankfully, it brought out the distinctive sweetness of Chodang corn so well. It wasn’t that super-sweet-and-salty kind of thing!!!! Instead, it lifted the corn’s subtle sweetness into something really delicious~

A Seongsu-dong date lunch that was lovely in photos, too

When recommending a good restaurant in Seongsu-dong, it’s not just the flavor that matters—the visuals matter too, right? Both the flavors and the food itself were so beautiful, so I’m going back next time I’m in Seongsu-dong to meet a friend!! Since I wasn’t driving, I had a glass of wine, and it was such, such a nice lunch!!

Seongsu-dong is so hot right now that if you don’t know where to go, I recommend Sedici, a great pasta restaurant in Seongsu!! Overall, the food was gentle rather than overpowering, and I loved how beautifully and deliciously it expressed the ingredients’ natural flavors~

And since it had been a while since my husband and I had gone on a date, the pretty plating made it great for taking photos, too. I recommend it as a Seongsu-dong date spot!! If you’ve been looking for Seongsu-dong restaurant recommendations, give Sedici a try~
