Wandering around Nampo-dong and Gukje Market on a Busan trip, there's genuinely so much to eat haha. This time, while trying to figure out what to have, I found this place — Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch, a hotpot spot in Nampo-dong, Busan.
Honestly I first went in just to eat hotpot, but it turns out Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi lets you enjoy hotpot AND lamb skewers, both all-you-can-eat? Couldn't resist that haha. From meat to vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles, you grab as much as you want from the self-bar, and the lamb skewers are grilled yourself too, so it ended up being more fun to eat than I expected. Sharing this for anyone looking for hotpot during a Busan trip :)
Where is Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch and what are the hours?
A warm bowl of hotpot found while walking the alleys of Nampo-dong
Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch is at 7 Bupyeong 1-gil, Jung-gu, Busan, 1st floor, and is open 12:00–24:00. It's closed the first and third Mondays of every month.
It's about a 3-minute walk from Jagalchi Station Exit 3, so it's easy to reach by subway, and since it's near the Bupyeong pork trotter alley, it's easy to stop by while exploring Nampo-dong or Gukje Market.

An all-you-can-eat spot where you can have hotpot and lamb skewers together
When you can't give up either hotpot or lamb skewers, Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi
As the name suggests, Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch is a place where you can enjoy both hotpot and lamb skewers, both all-you-can-eat. It's run by a foreign owner, and looking at the shop's introduction, the thing they emphasize most is, of course, unlimited refills!

Being able to grab as much of your favorite ingredients as you want is the biggest perk haha. With hotpot, it's not just about the meat — the fun is in throwing in vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and noodles too. At Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi you pick your own ingredients, so it's great for building the bowl to your own taste. And since you can have lamb skewers alongside it, it works well for group visits too.
Someone eats hotpot, someone eats lamb skewers, and eventually everyone ends up eating both. It's a great setup for anyone who wanted hotpot and lamb skewers together.
What's the atmosphere and seating like at Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch?
That local-China feel and bustling energy start the moment you walk in
Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch wasn't hard to spot from outside thanks to its huge red sign.

It's written in big letters — Sacheon hotpot and lamb skewer all-you-can-eat — so it catches your eye even just passing by haha. Once inside, the space is quite a bit bigger than the exterior suggested.

There are a good number of tables, and each one is set up so you can cook hotpot right at the table. It's not so much a fancy, decorated interior as a comfortable space for groups to sit and eat a hearty meal together.

When you're eating hotpot and lamb skewers together, the table fills up with food and plates keep piling up haha, but the space wasn't cramped at all, which I liked.

It looked like a good spot for visiting with friends or a bigger group.
What ingredients and lamb skewers are at the self-bar?
From hotpot to lamb skewers, an all-you-can-eat tour

The menu at Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch is built around hotpot and lamb skewers, but personally, browsing the self-bar was more fun than the menu itself haha.

Basically you grab a plate and do a lap around the self-bar. There are way more ingredient options for the hotpot than I expected.

From vegetables like bok choy and bean sprouts to various mushrooms including enoki, fried tofu, tofu skin, fish cakes, and noodles — you fill your plate fast just picking one of each.
And the important part, the meat! There's meat prepared separately too, so you can take as much as you want to add to the hotpot.

When you come to an all-you-can-eat place, you end up piling your plate sky-high right from the start haha, but I think it's best to take a little at first, then go back for more once you find what you like.

There are several kinds of lamb skewers ready too — just pick what you want and bring it back.

You make your own sauce
Inside the self-bar at Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi there's also a corner for making your own sauce.

There are so many sauce options that it's a little overwhelming at first, but there are instructions on how to mix it, so you can just follow those, or, like me, add a bit more of whatever you like as you go. I made mine following the instructions first, then tasted it and added a bit more to suit my taste. What I made ended up tasting really good haha..

How was the mandarin duck hotpot and charcoal lamb skewers?
Bubbling hotpot plus lamb skewers — a properly filling meal
The hotpot at Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch comes in a mandarin duck pot, letting you eat two broths at once. One side is spicy with rising spice aromas, the other is comparatively mild and easy to eat, so it was nice being able to pick based on mood.
Once the spicy side started boiling, the aroma hit and it really felt like proper hotpot time haha. In went the meat from the self-bar, along with bok choy, mushrooms, fried tofu, tofu skin — just piled it all in.

At first the pot was clearly clean... but a few minutes later it was so packed you couldn't tell what was what haha. But that's the fun of hotpot, isn't it.

Pick your favorite ingredients, add them in, and once cooked, fish them out and dip in your homemade sauce.
The lamb skewers are grilled yourself over charcoal
And did I only eat hotpot?

Of course not haha. I properly had the lamb skewers too. At Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi, once the charcoal arrives, you put the skewers you grabbed from the self-bar on top and grill them yourself.

I grabbed a little of several kinds and laid them on the charcoal — just watching them sizzle looked delicious. The golden-browned lamb skewers got a quick dip in the sauce, then straight in my mouth.

And then back to a bite of the spicy hotpot broth haha. Hotpot → lamb skewer → hotpot → lamb skewer, on repeat like that.

Personally, alternating between hotpot and lamb skewers like this instead of sticking to just one made it far less tiring. Especially with a group, everyone bringing their own favorite ingredients to share would make it even more fun.
With all-you-can-eat places, it's disappointing when there are lots of options but not much worth actually eating — but Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch had plenty of solid choices, both for the hotpot and the lamb skewers, so I left completely full :)

Who is Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch good for?
For a day in Nampo-dong when you're craving something warm and hearty
I visited Sacheon Hwogwa Yangkkochi Nampo Branch while trying to decide what to eat around Nampo-dong on a Busan trip. I went in thinking hotpot would be the main event, but after actually eating, what stuck with me most was being able to enjoy hotpot and lamb skewers together in one sitting.
Being able to grab whatever ingredients you like from the self-bar makes it easy to match everyone's taste, and there's real fun in mixing meat, vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles. Add the charcoal-grilled lamb skewers on top and it becomes a pretty substantial meal haha.
Especially for big eaters or groups of friends, this seems like a place to really get the full value of all-you-can-eat. It's also a convenient spot to stop by while exploring Nampo-dong or Gukje Market, making it a solid dinner option on a Busan trip.
