A review after getting a medium-length woman's hippie perm at 26do Hair Suseong Branch, a hair salon in Suseong-gu! An honest write-up of my visit, from consultation to perm to the severely damaged hair clinic, all with Director Taerim.

Today I'm sharing a review from my visit to 26do Hair Suseong Branch, a salon I personally visit regularly.

Booking and parking at 26do Hair Suseong Branch

I always book with Director Taerim, and this time too I made a reservation in advance through Naver Reservation. From my past visits, Director Taerim has always been really kind during consultations and explains hair care and styling tips in detail, which I love 👍🏻

If you're driving, search for Suseong-dong 1-ga Community Center — there's a commercial parking lot entrance right next to it.

What the Daegu salon looks like inside

The interior overall feels clean and well-organized.

With a clean white-tone atmosphere, it felt like a comfortable place even for first-time visitors. There was a separate, tidy shampoo area too, and everything felt well maintained overall!

Why 3 months of neglected hair became a medium-length hippie perm

Honestly, I hadn't been to a salon in over 3 months, so my hair was literally a mess haha

The ends of my long hair especially were badly damaged, messy and frizzy. So this time I decided to just cut it to medium length! But once I was about to cut it, I suddenly wanted a perm too… haha. So I showed a photo of the style I wanted and we checked my current hair condition together during the consultation. What I wanted was a woman's hippie perm — natural curls that weren't too tight, with a delicate feel!

After showing the photo and consulting, we decided to proceed with the treatment matched to my hair condition.

Adding the severely damaged hair clinic

Since I already had damaged hair and was now adding a perm on top, I was worried about my hair's condition, so a clinic treatment was done together, matched to my hair.

Mine was classified as severely damaged hair, and I liked that instead of just going ahead with the perm blindly, they checked my current hair condition and consulted accordingly. If you're looking into a medium-length perm in Daegu, I'd recommend not just bringing a photo of what you want, but also discussing your own hair condition.

Because even for the same style, the curl or technique can differ depending on hair condition!

Drinks and snacks served during the perm

One of my favorite things about 26do Hair Suseong Branch! They gave me a drink to enjoy during the treatment and also prepared some simple snacks.

Perms take quite a while, right? But thanks to the snacks, I managed to get past the hunger crisis… haha

How did the medium-length hippie perm curls turn out?

My ends used to be really damaged and messy, but after trimming to medium length and adding curls, the whole vibe definitely changed.

Based on the photo I showed and matched to my hair length and condition, the curls turned out exactly the bouncy feel I wanted, not overly frizzy. Especially with hippie perms, if the curl doesn't go in right for your hair volume or length, it can look too puffy — but mine came out with just the right amount of overall volume, which I loved.

After the treatment, they also explained how to dry and care for my hair at home.

Sometimes my hair looks great at the salon but turns weird once I get home haha, so it was great to get care tips so I could style it similarly at home. Director Taerim was thorough with consultation from the cut to the perm, and kept checking my hair condition throughout the treatment, which left me satisfied.

Especially if you're like me, going to the salon after a long time thinking "I don't know what to do with my hair…", I'd recommend bringing a few photos of the style you want and getting a proper consultation.
