Pasta restaurant at Suwon Station: bulgogi pilaf lunch, Rolling Pasta
In short
Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is a budget-friendly Western restaurant on the 2nd floor of a commercial building right outside Suwon Station Exit 7 in Suwon, Gyeonggi. On a trip, the writer left the hotel for lunch with his girlfriend and ordered tiramisu, the original bulgogi pilaf and a brothy seafood pache pasta, and found both the portions and the taste satisfying for the price. With plenty of non-pasta choices like pilaf, risotto and doria, Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is an easy lunch spot for two, even if one of you isn't a pasta fan.

I was out and about away from my lodging and wanted a good-value lunch, so I stopped by Rolling Pasta at Suwon Station. The last time I saw one was in my early twenties, so I was surprised to run into it in another city. Rolling Pasta is known as a budget Western restaurant, and students still go there a lot. I went in for the first time in ages, and the menu is still good value, a solid place to get a meal done.
Where is Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch, and how late is it open?
Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is a Western restaurant on the 2nd floor of a commercial building, a 1-minute walk from Suwon Station Exit 7 or Suwon Station Mall Exit 11. It is open daily 11:00–21:30, with last order at 21:00.
Since it is open from lunch through dinner and the menu is such good value, everyone from students to adults comes. It says solo diners are welcome too, so you can go alone without feeling awkward. This time I went with my girlfriend.
Getting to Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch and the entrance
Come up Suwon Station Exit 7 and go straight ahead, and you will see Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch right away. It is on the 2nd floor. The standing sign says there are discounts every day, which must be nice for office workers nearby. At the entrance, solo diners are welcomed too.

Seating and how ordering works inside Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch
There are quite a lot of waiting seats when you walk in. Groups seem to come often, which is probably why there is so much waiting space.

Tables run from 2 seats to 4 seats, and they can all be pushed together, so bigger groups seem to come as well. You can order and pay at the table, which should suit shy people. The self-serve bar is separate, so you fetch your own water and tableware.

Is the restroom clean?
The restroom at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is inside the restaurant, separate for men and women, and kept tidy. I had no trouble using it.
Is Rolling Pasta only pasta?
Rolling Pasta sells a wide range of Western dishes: pizza, pilaf, risotto, pasta, doria (baked rice gratin), gnocchi, desserts and drinks. With so many kinds of food, a big plus is that someone who doesn't really eat pasta still has other choices. That's why I went with my girlfriend.
How were the tiramisu, bulgogi pilaf and pasche pasta?

Tiramisu: a decent portion for the price
The first thing to arrive was the Rolling Pasta tiramisu, and the portion is decent for the price. In the photo there seemed to be lots of coffee powder, so I worried I wouldn't be able to eat it, but when I actually got it there was none, luckily. The top had a rich chocolate flavor, the cream was sweet and the sponge was thick, so this dessert addict was happy.

Original-flavor bulgogi pilaf: no spice, a fair portion
This was the original-flavor bulgogi pilaf, and there was truly no spiciness at all, and the portion was just right, easy to eat. Rolling Pasta has lots of dishes that suit Korean tastes, which I like. If you get the chance, let's all stop by.

Pasche pasta: seafood pasta with a shallow broth
This was my noodle-loving girlfriend's pick, I think it's called pasche pasta. It is a seafood pasta with a shallow pool of broth, and the aroma reminded me of the spaghetti at a pizza place. If you add rice and simmer it, wouldn't that become risotto? I'd like to try that if I can.
The shrimp are fairly big, the two pieces of squid in it were chewy, and there were several small clams too, maybe that's why my girlfriend ate well and left happy.
Would I go again?
Next time I pass through Suwon, I'll try other dishes at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch.
