Today I visited Noknok (녹녹), a Yeonnam-dong bakery café right beside Yeonnam Forest Trail~! Yeonnam-dong has so many pretty, atmospheric cafés, doesn’t it? But when I think about it, there actually don’t seem to be that many that are large enough to sit back and rest comfortably. Especially on weekends, you can go into a Yeonnam-dong café hoping to relax over a coffee, only to find no seats or tables packed too closely together—and somehow feel even more frazzled. Haha. In that sense, Noknok was a café where I could enjoy both Yeonnam-dong’s atmosphere and comfort at once~!

A spacious café across two floors

Noknok operates across the first and second floors. From outside, I could already tell it wasn’t a tiny café, but once I stepped in, it was far more spacious than I expected!! Since Yeonnam-dong has so many cafés in small buildings or tucked into side streets, it felt especially nice to find one with this much room.

There was plenty of seating too, so it looked great for visiting with friends or spending time alone with a coffee. While I was there, it also felt less like a café visited only by tourists and more like a neighborhood spot where local residents naturally gather~!

A Yeonnam-dong café with limited parking

And here’s something quite welcome in Yeonnam-dong!! Limited parking was available too~! Parking can be a real concern when you visit Yeonnam-dong by car. Of course, it isn’t a huge parking area, but I think the fact that the café has any parking at all is an advantage. If you’re planning to drive, it would be a good idea to check whether a space is available before visiting.

A Yeonnam Forest Trail café for relaxing with your dog

Noknok is also a dog-friendly café. So many people walk their dogs around Yeonnam Forest Trail, so it is such a fitting perk for the location~! When I visited, I saw people come in with their dogs after a walk and take their coffee to go.

While they waited, the dogs got lots of affection from the other guests too. Haha, it was one of those scenes that made me happy just watching!! I thought it would be a nice café to stop by when you want to take a short break or have a coffee after walking your pet around Yeonnam Forest Trail.

Grab coffee for your walk with a takeaway discount

It is nice to linger over coffee in the café, but they also offer a takeaway discount, so lots of people were getting their coffee to go. Since Yeonnam Forest Trail is right nearby, taking a coffee along for a walk on a nice day would be lovely too~! Seeing neighborhood residents casually stop in for coffee made it feel more like a café naturally rooted in the neighborhood than one designed just for tourists.

Americano, café latte, and bakery treats

Today’s order was an Americano + café latte + chocolate loaf bread + Basque cheesecake! We only meant to have coffee, but it was hard to just walk past the bread. Haha. Noknok had more bakery choices than I expected, as well as desserts.

There were especially lots of small loaf breads that looked perfect for a light bite with coffee. It was not just sweet desserts either; there were breads substantial enough to stand in for a meal, so it could be a nice casual brunch stop too. You know those times when you are not very hungry, but coffee alone feels a little lacking~! It felt perfect for choosing one bread to enjoy alongside your coffee then.

Chocolate loaf bread and Basque cheesecake

We chose the chocolate loaf bread and added Basque cheesecake for dessert. We each ordered coffee too—an Americano and a café latte! The bread was nice alongside the Americano, while the café latte made for a more leisurely dessert moment.

Above all, there were so many choices that I wanted to try another bread next time~! If you love bread, have a slow look through the bakery selection before ordering your drink. Haha.

A Yeonnam-dong café where you can truly relax

Personally, what I liked most about Noknok was its comfort. Yeonnam-dong has such a wide range of atmospheric cafés. There are lots with beautiful interiors that are great for photos, and new cafés keep opening too. But when you walk Yeonnam Forest Trail for ages and go in for a coffee, only to find the seats too cramped or the chairs uncomfortable... honestly, it does not feel very restful, does it? Haha.

In that respect, I think Noknok deserves high marks. With roomy first- and second-floor spaces and plenty of seating, it was a great place to relax over coffee and dessert. A café with atmosphere that does not sacrifice comfort! That was the biggest appeal of Noknok for me~!

A coffee after a Yeonnam Forest Trail walk

The Yeonnam-dong café Noknok that I visited today was not a place that relies only on flashy interiors; I liked that it was somewhere you could stay and relax comfortably. It has spacious rooms across two floors, a range of bakery items and desserts, and even a takeaway discount, so there are plenty of ways to enjoy it.

It is especially well suited to people walking their dogs on Yeonnam Forest Trail because dogs are welcome too~! If you are looking for a café in Yeonnam-dong to chat comfortably with friends, or want to sit down and have a leisurely coffee after a walk on Yeonnam Forest Trail, give Noknok a visit! Tiny, pretty atmospheric cafés are nice too, but sometimes a spacious, comfortable Yeonnam-dong café like this feels even more welcome. I should stop by again next time I want a relaxed coffee after walking Yeonnam Forest Trail~!
