Sillim pizza restaurant for basil shrimp and beer: Pug Pizza House
In short
Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch is a three-story pizza restaurant in Gwanak, Seoul. I tried a half-and-half pizza with Hurricane Double Pepperoni and Basil Mascarpone Shrimp, plus Butter Garlic Potatoes, by the second-floor windows. Verdict: the basil shrimp pizza and four free sauces were the standouts.

A three-story pizza restaurant in Sillim
I visited the large, three-story pizza restaurant in Sillim that I’d wanted to try for ages! It’s Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch (퍼그피자하우스 신림점)! I was surprised that such a large place had opened in Sillim, and its flashy exterior really caught my eye!
Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch
An American-style restaurant with a space on every floor
The exterior was flashy enough to stand out from far away, with a real American-style feel!

I heard the owner created it with the hope that people could enjoy delicious pizza and a lovely time with their dogs!

There were so many menu choices, from whole pizzas and individual sandwiches to all kinds of sides, so I was excited even before going in!!

This is the first-floor space you see as soon as you enter—so neat, right?? With its LED signs, it had a bit of a pub-like vibe too!

There was a kiosk, so you could order takeout right away too!

Pickles and tableware were available self-service, and the thing that surprised me most was that there were four dipping sauces for free!! Unlimited, too!! There was also a sign with information before heading up to the second floor, so it would be good to give it a read! The stairs to the second floor were at the far side behind the kiosk.
The second floor felt more suited to a sit-down meal! I thought the first floor would be better for pizza and beer, while the second floor would be nicer for dining with a date or family!

The best part of the second floor was the wonderful view outside through the floor-to-ceiling windows! So of course, we chose a table upstairs!

The framed pictures and decorative details on the walls here and there really added to Pug Pizza House’s distinctive atmosphere!

Each floor had its own kitchen, so there was no chaotic feeling at all, and it was great being able to enjoy hot pizza right away!

The dog-friendly PET ZONE on the third floor
There was even cute wallpaper on the way up to the third floor, isn’t it adorable?? The third floor is the PET ZONE, where dogs are welcome!

The guidelines on the wall before you enter were cutely illustrated, so they naturally caught my attention and I gave them a read! It looked like strollers could be stored on the other side, and perhaps borrowed too! The third floor also had a self-service zone like the floors below, along with supplies for dogs!
True to its pet-zone name, dog cushions were provided, and it seemed you could borrow one by asking a staff member! If you come with a dog, please read the pet-zone rules carefully before using it!
This is the inside of the third floor! It was decorated with lots of dog photos, and there was a photo spot in the middle too! If I had a dog, I think I’d be absolutely itching to take pictures! They’re running an event as well, so it would be nice to show off your dog and join in!
As you’d expect from a pet zone, the spaces were separated, which seemed like a great advantage because dogs could move around comfortably without leashes. You could feel the owner’s affection for dogs in the fact that every table had a space for them! It’s the kind of thoughtful detail people without dogs might not know about, I guess?
This was the innermost table, and I really wanted it because the space was separated and both sides had floor-to-ceiling windows, so the atmosphere looked amazing! The women’s restroom is on the second floor and the men’s restroom is on the third floor!
The self-service zone with four free sauces

The self-service zone had plastic gloves, tableware, water, and more, plus Pug stickers—aren’t they adorable?? I almost took one, then put it back down.
Pickles and four kinds of sauces were ready to go! There wasn’t an option to add garlic sauce when ordering, so I wondered what was up—but it was free!!!!! Seriously, the owner is the best..! I was curious about the other sauces too, so I took a little of each! The four were ranch, chipotle, garlic, and corn butter! Surprisingly, the chipotle sauce went so well with the rich pizza, so definitely try it!

There were pugs on the wet wipes too!! There are pugs everywhere~!!
Hurricane Double Pepperoni and Basil Shrimp half-and-half

Finally, the food came out!! We ordered a half-and-half pizza with Hurricane Double Pepperoni and Basil Mascarpone Shrimp! Of the two, I thought the Basil Mascarpone Shrimp was really delicious! There’s a reason so many people order it.

Isn’t it an incredible sight??! It made my mouth water right away!! They didn’t hold back on the toppings, so it looked absolutely delicious!!

A lot of people don’t like the crust ends, right?? I’m one of them, but here they’re made with glutinous rice and bagel ingredients, so they were chewy and soft, and I could enjoy every last bite!!

Next up was the Butter Garlic Potatoes! Garlic sauce and fries are a guaranteed delicious combination, and the onion flakes on top added texture too, so I enjoyed them so much!
