Vivid13, a well-known spot in Gwangalli, Busan, has stood firmly in the same location for 8 years. When you factor in labor costs, electricity, and rent, lasting eight years in one place is no small feat. I wondered what kept people coming back, and personally, I think it's the 'fresh, healthy flavor.'

They make every sauce and dressing 100% in-house, and you can tell the moment you taste the food. Honestly, from running my blog I've visited a lot of restaurants and gotten used to the taste and aroma of store-bought sauces. But this Gwangalli brunch café doesn't use heavy, punchy sauces — instead, you can really taste the pure flavor of each ingredient, which felt quite refreshing : )

Inside Vivid13: seating, outlets and restroom

You could feel the eight years of history in the exterior and interior of Vivid13 Gwangalli Main Branch, but the space itself was decorated with real sense. They used bold, saturated colors — yellow, blue, red — as accents on the walls and furniture, and added personality with lighting, plants, frames, and mirrors. There are outlets scattered around, so if you need to charge your phone, you can comfortably eat and charge at the same time.

The restroom was stylish and well-kept too. There was plenty of toilet paper, and the water pressure was decent. No smell at all, and the floor was clean. Overall you could tell a lot of care went into the interior.

  • Chamomile tea (iced) ₩4,500
  • Today's soup (mushroom soup) ₩7,500

I heard this place is known for pasta, but I was in the mood for soup and eggs Benedict, so I ordered the three items above.

No caffeine? Vivid13's iced chamomile tea, 4,500 won

Since I can't handle caffeine, I ordered the caffeine-free herbal tea, chamomile tea. I like its subtle floral scent, so I often reach for chamomile when I'm craving herbal tea. It's known for a lot of good effects too — easing tension, helping you relax, aiding sleep, soothing an upset stomach, antioxidant properties, and more.

Soup of the day at Vivid13: mushroom soup, 7,500 won

The soup was seriously exactly my taste. It's mushroom soup, and the flavor was really deep — smooth, creamy texture with the mushroom's subtle aroma coming through clearly. Not too watery, not too thick either, and a great, light way to start the meal.

What comes on the Vivid13 eggs Benedict plate, 18,500 won

The eggs Benedict comes with an English muffin, poached egg, sliced ham, prosciutto, bok choy, roasted onion, mushrooms, hollandaise sauce, and a salad! It came out really generous, and I ate until I was properly full, haha. If you're used to heavy, punchy food, I'd recommend trying this fresh, healthy brunch.

After brunch: a 3-minute walk to Gwangalli Beach

After enjoying a tasty brunch at Vivid13 in Gwangalli, Busan, it's great to walk along Gwangalli Beach, just a 3-minute walk away. After filling up, I wandered around looking at the vast Gwangalli sea, and it was genuinely healing, haha. If you're looking for a good spot for a Busan trip or a Gwangalli date in Busan, I recommend Vivid13 brunch café!
