Sejong café with a red roaster & silver-cup drinks: Café The Corner
In short
Café The Corner is a roastery café on the ground-floor corner of a shopping building on Bodeum 3-ro in Dodam-dong, Sejong, listed in the Blue Ribbon guide every year from 2015 to 2026. The writer looked over the red roaster and Blue Ribbon stickers by the entrance, then tried tomato juice (₩5,800), a chocolate Frappuccino (₩5,800) and a honey bread (₩6,500) piled high with whipped cream. For a crisp-outside, flaky-inside honey bread at a Dodam-dong café open until 1 a.m., Café The Corner is a good pick.

Café The Corner is a roastery café that has been picked for the Blue Ribbon guide every year. (Paid for with my own money!)

Today I visited Café The Corner (카페더코너) in Sejong! I was searching for a café in Dodam-dong, heard it had been picked for the Blue Ribbon guide every year, and got curious. They roast their own coffee, and I even ended up eating honey bread.
Where is Café The Corner in Dodam-dong?
Café The Corner is on the ground-floor corner of a shopping building on Bodeum 3-ro in Dodam-dong, Sejong. The sign reading "Cafe The Corner" stays brightly lit at night, so it stands out from far away.

There is also a "Coffee" sign right next to it, so it felt like a place that really cares about coffee.
The red roaster by the entrance
A red roaster sits beside the entrance of Café The Corner. Since they roast their own beans, they keep the roaster outside. I had never seen that before, so it was fun to see. A big photo of a coffee machine is on the wall too, so you get the mood even before going in.

Deck terrace seating
There is a deck terrace outside the building. Small light posts and flower pots make it cute. On a nice day, sitting outside would be lovely.

How many times has Café The Corner made the Blue Ribbon list?
By the door of Café The Corner, Blue Ribbon stickers for every year from 2015 to 2026 are lined up. Seeing twelve of them side by side, I figured it was a place I could trust.

Café The Corner hours and menu
According to the sign outside Café The Corner, it opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 1 a.m. Being open so late is great for anyone looking for a café in Dodam-dong.

The sign says they use specialty green beans and roast them in-house. Homemade syrups (cheong) come in lemon, grapefruit and yuja (citron), and the fresh fruit juice is tomato. They also have year-round bingsu (shaved ice dessert).
What is the atmosphere inside Café The Corner?
Inside Café The Corner there are plenty of wooden tables. The wood louver walls and sparkling lights make it feel warm.

The tables are spaced widely, so it would be easy to chat.

A blue THE CORNER logo hangs on the wall. Small plants and picture frames sit on the shelf below, which is cute.

A Marshall speaker sits on the counter, and honey bread is displayed in the showcase. Behind it, grinders and espresso machines are lined up, so you can watch the coffee being made.

We ordered tomato juice, a chocolate Frappuccino and honey bread at Café The Corner.

I'm already looking forward to the bingsu in summer..!

Tomato juice and chocolate Frappuccino in silver cups
Our drinks and dessert finally arrived! Drinks at Café The Corner come in shiny silver cups.

Freshly blended tomato juice and a chocolate Frappuccino...! You can see the bits in the tomato juice. It feels like it was blended right then.

The straws are heart-shaped! It's a small thing, but it's a thoughtful touch.

How does the honey bread at Café The Corner taste?
The honey bread (₩6,500) at Café The Corner comes with a huge pile of whipped cream! Chocolate syrup and caramel syrup are drizzled all over it.

When I cut it with a fork, the outside was crispy and the inside had distinct layers. The cross-section shows the bread in layer after layer. Eaten with the sweet cream, it was just right as a dessert. It was genuinely tasty honey bread, the first in a while!
