Seongsu restaurant with brisket perilla pasta: Seongsu Darak, Seoul

Went back to Seongsu Darak, the Seongsu restaurant famous for pasta that I've visited before! Recommending it again as a great Seongsu Western-food spot!

How to find Seongsu Darak: 10 minutes on foot from Seongsu Station Exit 3

Seongsu Darak is a Seongsu pasta and Western food restaurant located at 20 Ttukseom-ro 9-gil, 2F, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It's about a 10-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3!

It's the kind of walk where you can wander through the alleys of Seongsu-dong on the way, so it's perfect for a Seongsu date course too ^-^~

Inside Seongsu Darak: a cozy space spread over two floors

Open the door on the first floor, climb the stairs, and the cozy interior appears! The space isn't huge, but since it's split between the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are actually quite a lot of tables!

There's a range from warm window seats where the sunlight pours in, to tables where several people can sit together. Overall it's cozy but clean, so it works well for friend gatherings, Seongsu dates, brunch, or a meal with parents — a real Seongsu Station date restaurant (^◡^ )

Seongsu Darak's Western menu ranges from omurice to pasta, risotto, gnocchi, steak, and katsu sando, so there's fun in just choosing!

With such a wide variety, it's a great spot for a group to each order something different and share. As a place I've been back to twice now, every dish is a winner, so I really recommend going this way ^-^ㅋ

Katsu sando (12,000 won): pork cutlet sandwich

✨A Japanese-style sandwich made with juicy pork loin cutlet. The thick cutlet gives you real meaty texture with every bite, and the bread is moist and soft, so it's easy to eat without feeling heavy!

It's clean and easy to eat, so it's a great side to order alongside two main dishes when there are two of you haha

Grilled pork shoulder steak (22,000 won)

✨A combo of grilled pork shoulder, vegetables, mashed potato, and steak sauce. A proper way to enjoy juicy pork shoulder!

It came cut into easy, bite-sized pieces, and the sauce paired with the tender meat came together into a full, rich flavor ㅠㅠㅠ It was so much better than I expected — a real Seongsu Western restaurant that's especially good for a Seongsu anniversary or date (´～`)ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Beef brisket perilla pasta (18,000 won)

✨A distinctive oil pasta flavored with beef brisket, perilla powder, and perilla leaf. The nutty perilla sauce plus brisket make for an oil pasta unlike anything I've had elsewhere!

Seongsu Darak is clearly a real pasta place… the deep, nutty flavor unique to perilla blends beautifully with the pasta, giving it a nuttiness totally different from a regular pasta ~ there's also a hint of spice, so it pairs really well with the other dishes too!

Seongsu Darak, a place I've been to before and came back to! I only ordered dishes I hadn't tried before, and honestly every single one was delicious… the steak, the pasta, the sando — all so good…
