When you drive out to Jeju's east coast, there are so many pretty cafés and restaurants with ocean views to stop by. Among them, Woljeong-ri is a place that puts me in a good mood every time I visit, so I end up going there often.

A hearty meal in Woljeong-ri: Woljeongri Galbibap
This time I wanted a really filling meal, so I visited Woljeongri Galbibap, a well-known spot in Woljeong-ri. The name alone gives you a hint of the menu, but I was curious — how would they actually serve galbi (short rib) and bap (rice) together?
Once I got there, the food suited my taste well and the restaurant was kept clean, so I had a really pleasant meal. What stuck with me most was how fun it was to have a robot bring the food to the table.

Atmosphere and seating
Overall the place felt well organized, and the area around the tables was clean enough that I could settle in comfortably. When you're eating somewhere unfamiliar while traveling, that kind of thing quietly matters. It wasn't flashily decorated, more the kind of atmosphere that lets you focus on the meal, which I liked. It felt like a comfortable place to enjoy a meal with family, a partner, or friends.

For solo diners, there's a window bar-style seating area, which made me feel the owner's consideration.

When I walk into a restaurant, I tend to pay just as much attention to the interior atmosphere and cleanliness as to the food. No matter how famous a place is, if the tables or surroundings feel messy, it bothers me throughout the meal. In that respect, this place made a great first impression.

Right as you walk into the restaurant, there's a sign about the owner's charity giving, and that warm gesture was really touching.

What we ordered — Set B for two, ₩44,000
- Charcoal-grilled seasoned galbi (half soy sauce, half spicy)
- Butter-grilled abalone
- Seafood pajeon (pancake) with 8 side dishes
- Rice and today's soup
- Seasoned crab
- Set B / ₩22,000 (per person) = ₩44,000

The owner kindly explained that it's drizzled with sesame-oil garlic sauce and tastes even better while it's warm — thank you! The seasoned crab had a glossy shine that made it look delicious even before tasting it.

How was the galbi and rice combo?
Once the food we'd been waiting for arrived, its inviting look naturally sent my chopsticks straight for it. The galbi looked delicious, and eating it with rice made for a completely satisfying meal. A bite of meat followed by a bite of rice is such a familiar combination, but it's still so good no matter how many times you have it.
Above all, galbi really shows its charm when eaten together with rice. After enjoying the flavor of the meat, one bite of rice naturally led to reaching for another bite of galbi.

Sightseeing takes more out of you than you'd expect. At times like that, filling up on meat and rice gives you the energy to keep exploring. So if you're wondering where to eat while touring Woljeong-ri beach or Jeju's east coast, I think this place is worth considering when you're looking for a good restaurant in Woljeong-ri.
A good meal to add to your Woljeong-ri travel course
On a trip to Jeju's east coast, Woljeong-ri isn't a place you want to skip. Just seeing the blue sea and driving the coastal road is enough to make you feel like you're really in Jeju.
If you get hungry while exploring and want somewhere filling, a place like Woljeongri Galbibap, where you can enjoy meat and rice together, is a solid choice. Sitting comfortably in a tidy space, eating tasty galbi and rice, and even watching a serving robot bring the food over added a bit of fun to the meal.
If you're looking for a lunch or dinner spot while touring Woljeong-ri beach or planning a trip around Jeju's east coast, this might be worth keeping in mind. Between enjoying the sea to the fullest and eating well in Woljeong-ri, I was reminded that eating well is also an important part of the joy of traveling. Next time I head out to Jeju's east coast and want a hearty meal, I think I'll come back to this place.
