Laptop café in In-dong, Gumi with ube coffee and tiramisu: Good Things
In short
Good Things Gumi (굳띵즈 구미) is a large bakery café in In-dong, Gumi, Gyeongbuk, serving coffee from its own roasted specialty beans alongside tea and desserts. On a second visit, following an earlier self-paid one, the writer had ube coffee, tiramisu and an egg tart at Good Things Gumi and found the calm atmosphere good for laptop work, meetings and dates. Desserts at Good Things Gumi can run out early late on weekends, so it pays to go early.

What kind of café is Good Things Gumi?
Good Things Gumi (굳띵즈 구미) is a large bakery café in In-dong, Gumi, where you can enjoy specialty coffee from beans they roast themselves, plus a range of teas and desserts. I usually prefer trying new cafés, but Good Things is a place in Gumi with really good bakery items, and since it's a big café it's great for dates too. You can have coffee, tea and tasty desserts all together.

This time I came as a sponsored visit, but I had already visited once on my own dime when I first traveled to Gumi, because the desserts are good and it's a great place to work on a laptop.

Good Things Gumi is open until late in the evening, so it's easy to drop by on a weekday after work, and since it's a big café it works well for visiting with several people.

Good Things Gumi drinks and bakery menu
The drinks at Good Things Gumi ranged from the signature golden orange coffee to ube coffee, which is a hot drink right now, plus non-coffee drinks and teas. There are new spring menu items too, including matcha yuzu and sparkling yuzu, so there are some special drinks.

The bakery has butter tteok (butter rice cake), salt bread and several kinds of cake. Normally there's a wide variety, but I visited late on a weekend, so only a few were left.

They also have the popular lucky turtles on display, in lots of colors, and they were so cute that my eyes kept going back to them.

You can buy coffee beans here too, and since the coffee is good, they'd make a nice gift. The Wi-Fi info is posted here as well, so keep that in mind.

Is Good Things Gumi good for laptop work and studying?
Overall Good Things Gumi has a modern, calm and quiet feel, so it's a good café for working on a laptop. I've visited twice, and a lot of people brought laptops.

With so many roomy seats it's good for groups, and some seats have soft mood lamps, so I thought it was also a nice café for reading or coming alone to study or work.

There are also cushy sofa seats in black and white tones, which makes them perfect for meetings. Everyone from the staff to the owner is so kind that I always leave in a good mood.
There's an air purifier, so the air feels fresh, and baby chairs are ready for people coming with kids.

Do Good Things Gumi desserts sell out early on weekends?
The desserts at Good Things Gumi are really good, so on weekends they sometimes sell out early. It's nice for sitting and chatting, but a lot of people come just for the desserts. Even though it was a weekend when I came, many people left empty-handed because the desserts were gone.

They give you a pager, so just order and go sit down to wait.

In the morning the light comes in nicely, and if it were near my home I'd love to come often with my laptop. The coffee, other drinks and desserts are all good, so it's the kind of friendly café you can keep visiting without getting tired of it.

How do the tiramisu, egg tart and ube coffee taste?
For dessert at Good Things Gumi I chose the soft tiramisu. It's moderately sweet and goes so well with coffee that I'd really recommend trying it. The egg tart has crispy pastry and is moist, soft and sweet with buttery flavor, so I kept reaching for it.

For my drink I was debating a regular iced americano but went with the ube coffee. It has a nutty flavor and the sweetness of roasted sweet potato, and the soft, creamy milk goes well with it.

Desserts can also be packed to go, and many people take them away. It's a café where you can relax in the middle of a busy day and the bakery is good too, so I'd recommend Good Things as a date café in In-dong, Gumi.
