The menu is really diverse, from classic brunch dishes to pasta, steak, and desserts. There's plenty to choose from whether you want something light or a full meal. We ordered the salmon avocado waffle, grilled bacon toast, and an Americano.

When our order came out, true to the 'hippo' name, it was really generous at first glance >_< The plates were piled full of ingredients, so the visuals were on point, and the colors were pretty too — great for photos!

First up, the salmon avocado waffle! It's made of waffle + salmon + avocado + arugula + cream cheese. The crispy waffle was piled generously with salmon and avocado, looking really appetizing.

The salty salmon combined with the savory avocado and cream cheese, plus the slightly sweet waffle, worked together better than I expected!

The waffle was slightly crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the savory flavor of the salmon paired really well with the creamy avocado. The fragrant, slightly bitter arugula in between kept it tasty until the last bite~

Grilled bacon toast, 16,800 won

Next, the grilled bacon toast! It's made of toast + bacon + cream cheese + jambon. The thick toast was stuffed generously with bacon and jambon, looking hearty at first glance.

The toast was grilled golden on the outside for a nice crispy texture, and inside was salty bacon and jambon with soft cream cheese — the sweet-salty-savory combination was spot on~

The rich flavor of the bacon combined with the clean saltiness of the jambon, and the cream cheese softened the overall taste — the combination was really good.
