Samsin Garosu-gil, a Sinsa Station favorite | Chinese course cuisine. A fusion restaurant with an upscale atmosphere but wallet-friendly prices.

Where is Samsin Garosu-gil? Exit 8 of Sinsa Station, valet 5,000 won for 2 hours
Hours Sun–Thu 11:00–23:00 / Fri–Sat 11:00–24:00, break time 16:00–17:00. Parking available.
Garosu-gil feels like it's coming back to life these days. It had been a while since I'd visited, and there were so many newly opened places. Samsin Garosu-gil, which I'm introducing today, is one of those new Chinese restaurants. We drove ourselves, but if you're taking public transit, it's close to Exit 8 of Sinsa Station.

There aren't many restaurants near Sinsa Station with parking, so it was great that Samsin Garosu-gil offers valet. The valet fee is ₩5,000 for 2 hours, which is a generous window and not a bad price considering the location.

Black and mint interior over two floors, plus a 13-seat private room
I already thought the building's exterior looked great, but the interior was just as well done. Black and mint tones with an East Asian vibe give it a really upscale feel.

Samsin Garosu-gil uses the entire 2nd and 3rd floors. We were seated on the 2nd floor.

There's a range of seating from 2-tops to 4-tops to group tables, and the atmosphere is good enough for a date or all kinds of gatherings.

This is the private room, which seats up to 13 people. It'd be great for a year-end party or an office closing dinner, right? You can easily book through Naver Reservations or Catch Table.

You can actually book the room from just 2 people, but there's a minimum spend of ₩35,000, so we just booked a table in the hall instead.

What comes in Samsin Course A, the lunch-only set at 25,000 won
I wanted to try Samsin's signature galbi-jjim (braised short rib) jajangmyeon too, but since it was our first visit, I wanted to sample a variety, so we ordered the Samsin Course A. These upscale Chinese course meals are usually pricey, but Samsin's course starts at ₩25,000, which felt more affordable than I expected. (Lunch only.)

Sokcho snow crab soup
🍽️ Samsin Course A (per person) ₩25,000. The Sokcho snow crab soup came out first. A soft, warm soup that settled our stomachs before the main event — nice touch.

Handmade dim sum sampler, 2 pieces
Right after, the handmade dim sum sampler (2pcs) arrived. Our server was a 40-year veteran of the Chinese restaurant industry — let's call him Mr. Wang. I was taking photos so enthusiastically that he told me the juices were escaping from the dumplings and I should stop shooting and just eat, haha.

Tokyo tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork)
I'll just get one shot of the Tokyo tangsuyuk and then put the phone down... This is another one of Samsin's signature dishes, and interestingly it comes topped with butter — a fusion dish paying homage to Tokyo-style steak. The subtle butter aroma really added to the flavor. And even after the sauce was poured on, it stayed crispy.

Okay, I'll eat the dim sum before I really get scolded. Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) packed with juice! My husband said this was his favorite.

Taean potato jajangmyeon and meat jjamppong
For the noodle dish, you can choose between Taean potato jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and meat jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), so we ordered one of each to share. The jajangmyeon had a thick, hearty texture thanks to the potato, and the noodles were well seasoned — really tasty.

The meat jjamppong was packed with meat and had that smoky wok-hei flavor going strong — also delicious. Both were great, but I'm on Team Jjamppong and my husband's on Team Jajangmyeon! By the time we finished the noodles, we were already stuffed. But there was still one more course to go.

Pudding and a complimentary mango sorbet
For dessert, pudding, plus a complimentary mango sorbet. You can get the seasonal fruit sorbet by taking part in the review event — it's refreshing and delicious, so definitely grab it! Ah, it was all so good, and thanks to Mr. Wang, our server, the meal was cheerful and fun. He kept calling me 'princess,' which cracked me up — felt like being out with my dad. A total dad-of-a-daughter energy from Mr. Wang.
