Samseong Station Indian restaurant at 4 PM, Set B: India The Durbar

This time I'm posting about my visit to India The Durbar near Samseong Station. I really love Indian curry and naan in general, and since this place is run directly by locals from India, I had high expectations before I even walked in, haha.

Where is India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch, and where do you park?

📍15 Samseong-ro 84-gil, B1F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea Daily 11:00–22:00 Parking – public parking lot recommended (Yeongdong-daero 85-gil)

The red sign reading "India The Durbar" in front of the building really caught my eye.

For parking, just set your navigation to the Yeongdong-daero 85-gil public parking lot, though it can fill up on weekends, so keep that in mind. Customers who spend over a certain amount could get 1 hour of parking covered. It's best to check the parking support conditions with the restaurant before your visit ☺️

India The Durbar is located on the basement floor, but the Indian-style interior and colorful lighting gave it a distinctive atmosphere. Coming down the stairs, there's a photo of the Taj Mahal right in front of you, so you almost feel like you've traveled to India ☺️

The decorations really stood out, giving off that feeling of actually being in India.

It seems to be run by an Indian couple, and they were very kind and welcoming :)

Ordering the India The Durbar Set B at 4 PM

India The Durbar's menu has a lot of set options, which makes it easy even for someone like me who overthinks the menu. Before 14:00, you can enjoy curry and naan at a reasonably priced lunch rate. We visited around 4 PM this day and ordered the India The Durbar Set B.

Chicken mushroom soup and green salad first

Even the plates and cutlery were all Indian-style, so it was fun to look around while waiting for the food. The first thing to arrive was the chicken mushroom SOUP.

It was nice and warm, more like a cream soup and quite smooth. Next came the green salad.

The vegetables were fresh, and it came topped with orange dressing and orange slices, so it was delicious.

The lassi that comes with Set B

Next was the lassi included in the set menu. It's a sweet yet tangy yogurt drink, and it paired really well with the spicy curry and tandoori chicken.

Thanks to that, the meal felt cleanly finished off without even needing a separate dessert.

Boneless tandoori chicken

The boneless tandoori chicken came out boneless, which made it easy to eat, and it was spicier than I expected. There was still a bit of a spice aroma, but the flavor was a nice blend of that distinctive scent and the spicy seasoning.

Two curries and a big naan

The dish I enjoyed the most that day was definitely the curry!

We got to pick 2 out of 3 curry options — one was a bit spicy and fiery, while the butter curry was smooth with a really appealing flavor.

Above all, it was served hot and stayed that way, so dipping naan and rice into it was delicious right to the very last bite.

They also brought out a giant naan that we cut with scissors — crispy on the outside, moist on the inside!

The inside was chewy, and dipping it into the curry made it disappear faster than expected. If you love naan, ordering an extra one seems like a great idea, haha.

Whether piled over rice or dipped with the chewy naan, the curry was delicious!

Is India The Durbar Set B worth it?

Overall, this was a place that really captured the authentic feel of India, from the food to the atmosphere to the plates. Being run by locals, it had a slightly different feel compared to Korean-style curry, and the Indian-style interior made it feel unique. It was great enjoying such a variety in the 2-person set — salad, tandoori chicken, two curries, naan, rice, and lassi.
