Korean BBQ for a group of six in Eunpyeong: 800g platter at Yukjjip

In short

Yukjjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Eunpyeong, Seoul, a short walk from Exit 4 of Eungam Station. A group of six started with an 800g moduem (assorted pork platter) and kept adding dishes: yeolsun sundubu-jjigae (spicy soft tofu stew), yeolmu (young radish) bibim noodles and bibimbap, grilled pork skin and wasabi pork rice balls. The yeolsun sundubu-jjigae felt like a must-order, and the long side menu makes Yukjjip an easy pick for a big group.

Finding Yukjjip, a two-floor Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station

Today I visited a great-value BBQ restaurant near Eungam Station where you can even drink cheap thanks to a promotion! If you're looking for a samgyeopsal (pork belly) spot in Eunpyeong, let me recommend Yukjjip, where you can grab ₩1,000 soju along with a bunch of great-value side dishes~~

Yukjjip has several locations around Eunpyeong besides this one, and they're all great value! I went to the Eungam main branch, which you can reach through Exit 4 of Eungam Station~~

It's a spacious restaurant with both a 1st and 2nd floor available!

The summer event that was supposed to run until August 31st has apparently been extended through October, so if you visit before then, you can get soju for ₩1,000 and beer for ₩2,000. Because of this event and the high-quality meat, there can be a wait — just note that if there's a waiting line, your table time is limited to 100 minutes~~

What is on the Yukjjip menu and what the restaurant feels like

It was a weekday when we visited, but there were so many customers! The menu board and drinks lineup, visible all at once.

You can order meat and side dishes through the T-order tablet! Just note that cheongha and draft beer are excluded from the discount event!

There were so many people on the 1st floor that we got seated on the 2nd floor! They set the table with green onion kimchi, white kimchi, sliced green onions, and got the grill ready too.

An 800g pork platter for six, plus yeolsun sundubu-jjigae

First, since there were six of us, we ordered an 800g moduem (assorted platter) and planned to add more later! Plus the yeolsun soondubu jjigae — a soft tofu stew with the flavor of yeolramyeon (spicy instant noodles) — which was surprisingly delicious!

This alone could easily carry a bottle of soju.

Yeolmu bibim noodles and yeolmu bibimbap at Yukjjip

Since everyone was hungry, we also ordered yeolmu (young radish greens) bibim noodles and bibimbap — and the kicker was that they came with ground meat mixed in! Deliciously tossed with a sweet-and-tangy sauce and sesame oil.

I put in too much sauce for the bibimbap at first, so I ended up adding an extra bowl of rice. It's also tasty if you add bean sprouts or other side dishes to it :)

With so much food and the staff taking care of the meat for us, we could just relax and have fun conversations! Everyone started eating like they were on a mukbang show..

Adding grilled pork skin and wasabi pork rice balls

With so many people, we felt like we needed to add more menu items! We'd already had pork belly, pork neck, and gabrisal, so let's go simple with pork skin. It seemed like it had been marinated in some kind of signature sauce here! We tried dipping it in bean flour too.

We even got to the wasabi pork rice balls — at this point it felt like we were trying to eat every single item on the menu. But since the drinks are so cheap, it was nice to be able to try more of the delicious menu items!

A wide spread of ordered dishes at the BBQ restaurant

We finished everything we ordered.. and look at all those empty bottles piled up.. Yukjjip really got everyone drinking and eating more than usual! Personally, I think the yeolsun soondubu jjigae is a must-order, and beyond that, the meat was delicious and there wasn't a single side dish to skip! It's not far from Eungam Station either, so if you're looking for a great samgyeopsal spot in Eunpyeong, I highly recommend Yukjjip!
