This time we went to Jeonju Hanok Village as a family trip!! My boyfriend came along too, so we ended up wearing hanbok and shooting couple snaps as well haha. There are so many hanbok rental shops in Jeonju that I checked out several, but honestly the prices were all about the same. So I looked for a place with a wide variety and good service instead. Since we were bringing grandma and grandpa along with my parents, I rented from Gwijok Uisangsil because they had hanbok that would suit every age group well!

Gwijok Uisangsil has a wide range of hanbok, but they also carry Gyeongseong-era costumes! They have all sorts of princess-like dresses that really feel noble, and the inside of the shop has a pretty spacious antique vibe. The hanbok selection is honestly... so varied and so many...! Hahaha. Children's, men's, and women's durumagi (long coat), jeogori (jacket), and chima (skirt) — there are tons. Bold colors, muted colors, all sorts of designs, so you can pick according to your own taste 🤍

The way it works is you pick the chima (skirt) first, and the owner matches a jeogori (jacket) that suits it! The underskirt gives it a nice rounded volume, so the fit really looked pretty once it was on ✨ They dress you themselves, do your hair accessories, and even lend you a bag — really convenient for a family trip group like ours that needs a lot of help haha.

The men's clothes were like this — from king's robes! to warrior-style durumagi, to scholar-looking outfits, genuinely so varied hahaha. It was pretty fun trying them on one by one to pick.

After trying things on and comparing right there, once you make your final pick you change in the fitting room. The staff take care of tying the jeogori knot and fixing how everything sits!

Hair accessories in any style you like, at no extra charge

Once you're dressed, they do your hair — you sit at the vanity and they style it however you want. Hats, flower crowns, hairpins, daenggi ribbons, clips — so many options, right?

Seeing my grandmother in such a pretty hanbok like this really warmed my heart...🤍 It's an experience elderly folks really love, so if you're going on a family trip, I really hope you try hanbok too haha.

My hair is on the longer side, so I asked for it braided into a daenggi style. They matched the hair accessories to whatever hanbok style you're wearing. And of course, no extra charge haha. The little decorations along the braid are a nice touch, cute right?

They put everyone's personal clothes into separate garment bags, and you can store them for free in password-locked lockers, so we could walk around without worrying about theft haha. The fitting rooms are also all inside the shop, so the flow was really convenient too! Bags stored, now off to Gyeonggijeon for photos 💨

Where to shoot hanbok photos: inside Gyeonggijeon, 3,000 won entry

When taking photos in Jeonju Hanok Village, I really recommend going into Gyeonggijeon to shoot! Entry is ₩3,000 for adults, and free for seniors, so it's not too much of a burden haha. The spots around the hanok village itself are pretty too, but on weekends it gets really crowded, blocking the walkways, and there are lots of vehicles like tuk-tuks going through, which can be a bit dangerous.

We shot self-snap using an iPhone, though obviously a tripod would've made it even better. Both my grandma and grandpa really loved it!! Because they styled the hair so carefully, the photos came out so much more vibrant 💜 Family photos in hanbok really come out looking so different and pretty. Don't think it's cliché — I really think it's worth leaving as a precious memory..🥹🖤

Family snaps and couple snaps in one Jeonju visit

Since it was a family trip that my boyfriend also came along on, I could get family photos and our own couple snaps too, so it was two birds one stone...! Hahaha lots of couples go around shooting with tripods... and if you don't have a tripod, you can just ask each other to take photos. You each become the other's photographer and it works out great ^^ hahaha.

You know capturing the moment is key when shooting snaps, right?! You've gotta keep Live Photo on so you can catch expressions and all that. Walking together, talking naturally, holding hands — it all comes out so pretty...🤍

These days in September, the pink flowers are blooming so nicely, and shooting underneath them was gorgeous too! Hanbok photos taken in spring or fall are just so pretty..🤍 By the way, it was a little hot, but not unbearably so.

Rather than a flashy hanbok, I picked something a little more understated — a baby pink tone with white lace embroidery, and I think I chose well haha. Seeing the hair accessory from behind like this, doesn't it suit me so well and look so pretty? I thought it might be too much, but it wasn't. It's just pretty. Hahahahahaha.

Even sitting on the grass, the photos come out looking so fresh and pretty..💚 People kept saying it basically looks like wedding snaps... hahaha my boyfriend and I even joked about using these for our wedding pre-ceremony video haha.
