I wanted to capture hanbok photos on my solo trip to Jeonju
When you visit Jeonju, you see so many people walking around in hanbok or pretty modern-era outfits. This time, I also wanted to dress up nicely on my own and take some amazing keepers, so I headed to Gwijok Uisangsil Hanbok Jeonju Hanok Village Branch.

As I walked around Jeonju Hanok Village, the “Gwijok Uisangsil · Hanbok · Photo Studio” sign immediately caught my eye! A standing sign announcing powerful air-conditioning and pretty framed photos welcomed me at the entrance, so it was easy to find.

So many choices, from hanbok to modern-era costumes
Inside, a classic interior unfolded beneath a glamorous chandelier.

True to its name, Gwijok Uisangsil had not only traditional hanbok but also elegant modern-era and Gyeongseong-style costumes, retro suits, mini dresses, and glamorous velvet gowns! I was really tempted by the movie-worthy modern-era outfits too, but I decided to wear hanbok that would suit the hanok backdrop best.

In the hanbok section, there was an incredible range, from understated pastels to elegant lace designs and premium hanbok.

A pink hanbok and hair styling matched to my skin tone
Since I was visiting alone, I was a little worried about whether I could choose a hanbok that suited me. But the owner and staff kindly recommended options to match my skin tone and overall vibe, so choosing felt easy.
I went with the combination they suggested: a soft pink skirt and a luxurious white jeogori (hanbok jacket) embroidered with lace. The gentle, fresh color looked like it would photograph beautifully!

After getting dressed, it was time for hair styling, the finishing touch to a hanbok look. The vanity was full of charming accessories, from pretty flower crowns to ornate daenggi hair ribbons, floral pins, and sparkling binyeo hairpins.
The staff braided my hair beautifully, then carefully placed pink floral accessories that matched the hanbok. When I checked the finished look in the mirror, I was genuinely amazed! They paid close attention to the back and sides too, so even though I had come alone, I really felt like the main character.

Hanbok rental and solo snap-photo prices
Gwijok Uisangsil’s prices were reasonable, and the signs clearly explained photo options as well as downloads for original and retouched files, which was really convenient.
- Hanbok rental (2 hours): ₩20,000
- Hanbok rental (full day): ₩25,000
- Premium hanbok upgrade: +₩10,000

Outdoor snaps along stone walls and in a pine grove
Since I had come alone and wanted to preserve my prettiest look, I added the snap-photo option too! Once I was fully dressed, I went outside with the photographer for the session. We photographed against all kinds of backdrops, from a neat stone-wall path filled with blooming purple lilyturf flowers to a lush pine grove and refreshing outdoor spots.
Standing in front of a camera alone can make your poses and expressions feel awkward, but the photographer gently coached my gaze and poses so naturally that the shoot was truly fun.

A printed snap photo that added to the joy of the trip
Here is the printed snap photo I received after the shoot! The stone wall, serene hanok, and warm sunlight came together to create a photo I absolutely loved. Holding the printed photo in my hands made the joy of the trip feel doubled.
It was a solo trip to Jeonju, but thanks to Gwijok Uisangsil, I got to wear the hanbok of my dreams and take satisfying, high-quality snap photos, making it an unforgettable memory. I highly recommend Gwijok Uisangsil Hanbok Jeonju Hanok Village Branch to anyone wanting a standout photo in Jeonju Hanok Village—especially solo travelers looking to make a special memory!
