First scallop sushi near Seolleung Station, Seoul: Sushi Ian N

In short

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, where every plate is a flat 1,900 won. This lunch ran from egg shrimp sushi and soy-sauce shrimp sushi to meat plates like wagyu tataki, plus a first-ever scallop sushi, and ended with ice hongsi (frozen persimmon). With so many kinds on the belt, Sushi Ian N is a good-value sushi spot where picking one plate at a time is half the fun.

Now that summer's finally over, I figured it was okay to start eating sushi again, so I paid a visit to Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station after a while. This is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant where every plate is the same price, so I think it's one of the few genuinely good-value sushi spots near Seolleung Station.

Where is Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, and is parking free?

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is on the 2nd floor, and there's an elevator too. As for free parking, you can use the building's basement 1st floor free parking lot, or the Areumville building parking lot in front (if you spend over ₩40,000).

There's also a waiting area. It even had chargers, which was nice haha.

The takeout prices are listed too. Maybe because 10 pieces of takeout was cheaper than expected, there were surprisingly a lot of takeout customers as well.

There's the conveyor-belt bar counter, but also tables for 2–4 people like this, so it seems like a good spot to bring family too.

Every plate is a flat 1,900 won

The best part about Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is that every plate is ₩1,900, no difference at all. When you're not sure what kind of sushi something is, this menu board makes it easy to order haha.

They refilled the miso soup right away too. Note that there's a 1-hour limit if there are waiting customers. Also, if you write a Naver review you get one free sushi plate or a free drink, so keep that in mind.

This is the actual speed of the conveyor belt, and it's faster than you'd think lol. You have to watch it like a meerkat and swoop in to grab your plate hehe.

I'll sip on the soup first while deciding what to eat.

From egg shrimp sushi to soy-sauce shrimp sushi

The first thing I ate at Sushi Ian N was egg shrimp sushi. I love salmon and shrimp, and there were tons of salmon and shrimp menu items. It was soft and savory, so I ended up ordering this twice.

Plates of raw salmon sushi and shrimp sushi

Raw salmon sushi, raw shrimp garlic steak, soy sauce shrimp sushi. You crave raw salmon every once in a while, right? There's a version with onion on top and a regular raw salmon sushi version too. If you like soy sauce shrimp, give the soy sauce shrimp sushi a try too — it's salty-sweet with a bouncy texture.

Meat sushi and salmon yukhoe (beef tartare style) sushi

Sushi Ian N also had a lot of meat options — wagyu tataki, beef steak sushi, bacon-aged kimchi sushi, and more. If you get tired of eating only fish sushi, I'd recommend trying these meat sushi options. They have a strong charred aroma and a different feel, giving you that 'eating meat' sensation.

A plate of salmon yukhoe sushi

Salmon yukhoe (raw beef tartare) sushi. Isn't that combination surprisingly fresh, lol. I love yukhoe, so I was happy there were quite a few yukhoe menu items.

Scallop sushi, tried for the first time

This was my first time trying scallop sushi, and the scallop was soft with a distinctive texture — pretty good. I ended up eating it again lol.

Apparently kids elementary-age and under get fries and ketchup as a free service, wow. Green tea is free too.

Gamtae sweet shrimp anchimo sushi and gamtae sweet shrimp uni sushi

Gamtae (sea moss) sushi ordered straight from the chef

At Sushi Ian N, if the item you want isn't out on the belt, you can request it directly from the chefs — and I'd seen reviews saying the gamtae (seaweed laver) sushi was delicious. So I ordered both the gamtae sweet shrimp anchimo sushi and the gamtae sweet shrimp uni sushi. Both had a similarly savory flavor. Recommended if you like gamtae.

Eel sushi with sauce

I feel like I always end up ordering eel sushi at some point. The sauce was sweeter than I expected.

Wagyu truffle basil tataki sushi

Regular yukhoe sushi, and wagyu truffle basil tataki sushi. Had to work in some meat menu items again.

Salmon onion sushi topped with onion

This is another one I ordered — salmon onion sushi. If you're craving something refreshing, ordering the salmon onion sushi is a good option.

Cheese egg sushi finished with a torch

Cheese egg sushi, then ice hongsi to finish

For the last sushi of the day, I suddenly craved cheese egg sushi lol. There was a time I used to think, 'who even eats egg sushi,' and now that person is me. It's topped with cheese and also torched, so it has that charred aroma too.

Ice hongsi ordered for dessert

There was pudding and fruit too, but since ice hongsi (frozen persimmon) was also available, I ordered a plate and ate it like a final dessert. It had been a while since I'd had ice hongsi, and it melted away smoothly like ice cream, cool and perfect.

My two top picks at Sushi Ian N today

My top 2 picks today, though they're not in the photos, are the flounder fin sushi (engawa) and the egg shrimp sushi haha. Sushi Ian N has such a wide variety of menu items that it's genuinely fun picking one thing after another. I tried a lot of different things this time too, and I never got tired of it — kept going the whole time. Recommended as a budget-friendly sushi spot near Seolleung Station :)
