Gongdeok baked treats made with French butter
The reason Fluffy Bake Shop has been loved in Mapo's Gongdeok area for so long is the quality of its ingredients. It uses French Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter to make baked treats with a deep, rich flavor in every bite.

It is also a kind local business designated as a “Our Neighborhood Sharing Store” by the Mapo-gu Welfare Foundation Food Bank, making this a warm Gongdeok bakery where you can enjoy delicious bread and take part in a good cause.

Financiers, canelés, and a Dubai egg tart packed to take home
Neat and thoughtful packaging

The treats were packed securely at the shop in white wrapping printed with the cute Fluffy Bake Shop logo, so they stayed perfectly neat on the way home. I could see why this is popular for formal family-meeting gifts, return gifts, and thoughtful presents.

The lineup I plated up to taste included three financiers, two canelés, and a Dubai egg tart. Perhaps because they use premium French Lescure AOP butter, a nutty butter aroma burst out as soon as I opened the bag.

Three financiers and two canelés
The three financiers were vanilla, gamtae (Korean seaweed), and fig. They are the textbook version of crisp outside and moist inside. With every bite, the rich buttery flavor fills your mouth, but the refined taste is not overly sweet, so it never becomes tiring.
The fig financier was especially appealing for its little pops of texture; its chewy fig sweetness made it a perfect match with coffee. The gamtae financier had a nutty yet distinctly Korean flavor that dessert lovers are bound to enjoy.
The two canelés were Earl Grey and vanilla. Canelés can easily turn soggy if they are baked poorly, but the sweet caramel coating on Fluffy Bake Shop's canelés was artistically crisp. The exterior was crunchy enough to make a cheerful sound when cut in half, while the inside had a moist, chewy custard texture—the very best of crisp outside and chewy inside. The gentle vanilla aroma and rum flavor were so appealing.
Dubai egg tart
This was the menu item that made me gasp when I cut it open. A crisp pastry tart shell was layered with rich, nutty pistachio cream and a soft filling. Pistachio's signature substantial nutty flavor blended with the cream, and even one piece brought the happiness of an indulgent dessert.

If you are planning a date near Gongdeok Station, a Mapo Gongdeok bakery crawl, or thoughtful dessert gift wrapping, I highly recommend visiting Fluffy Bake Shop!
