Gongdeok café for canelés and gift boxes: Fluffy Bake Shop
In short
Fluffy Bake Shop is a café near Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul, serving house-baked pastries, salt bread, and coffee. On a repeat visit after getting a child’s bike brake repaired next door, I picked financiers and canelés for a gift, plus vanilla canelés and salt bread for my family. Verdict: Fluffy Bake Shop is my go-to for buttery baked treats and thoughtful dessert gifts in Gongdeok.

The baked-goods café I can never pass by in Gongdeok
There’s one place I find it hard to simply walk past whenever I’m in Gongdeok. It’s Fluffy Bake Shop, a true regular spot for me that I’ve already visited several times :) This time, I stopped in while having my child’s bike brakes repaired at Track Bicycle right next door. Honestly, I had planned to just get the bike fixed and go home, but with Fluffy Bake Shop right beside it, there was no way I was going to walk on by haha. The reason I keep coming back here among Gongdeok Station’s cafés is that the range of baked treats is just so good—and so delicious.

There are baked goods and salt bread baked right in the shop, and the display case is packed with choices—from madeleines to financiers and canelés. Fluffy Bake Shop says it uses Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter. I already love baked treats with a rich buttery flavor, so maybe that’s why the financiers here are exactly my taste. Every friend I’ve gifted them to has been completely happy with them.

It’s seriously fun to choose. There are madeleines too, from plain and vanilla to black sesame, Earl Grey, and yuzu, so if you’re looking for a dessert spot around Gongdeok Station, it’s worth having a look.
Financiers, canelés, and dessert gift packaging
And the reason I especially want to recommend this place! It’s absolutely wonderful for giving desserts as gifts.

This time, I chose my favorite financiers and canelés and had them prettily packed into a four-piece pulp lunchbox as a gift. You know those times when a big, elaborate gift feels like too much, but you also don’t want to just pick up anything at all? This is the perfect dessert gift to hand over with a smile :) I’ve actually put together gifts from here several times for my child’s academy teachers, and everyone loved them so much that this is now the first place I think of whenever I need a gift. Besides the four-piece pulp lunchbox, there are packaging options such as six-piece and 15-piece shopping-bag boxes, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for dessert gifts in Gongdeok. Did I only buy gifts and leave? Of course not hahaha. Gifts for others separately, treats for our family separately!

Mom’s canelés, the kids’ salt bread
I picked up a vanilla canelé, along with salt bread, which is my kids’ absolute favorite. Whenever we come here, my kids love the salt bread so much that it always ends up coming home with us.

Canelés for Mom, salt bread for the kids ♥ Canelés are my comfort dessert. The outside is properly baked—thin and crisp, with just a little caramelized flavor. Ahh 🫶🫶🫶 Inside, they’re moist, chewy, and soft, with a custard-like texture! The gentle vanilla aroma that comes through as you chew, together with the buttery flavor, makes the taste surprisingly rich for such a small treat. These canelés have that clear crisp-outside, soft-inside contrast, so they’re truly perfect with coffee. That’s why I keep grabbing canelés whenever I visit Fluffy Bake Shop haha 😍😍😍

A Gongdeok café for sitting down with coffee
And it’s not just the desserts that are good here—the coffee is genuinely delicious too. So rather than thinking of it as a bake shop that only does takeaway, I’d recommend it as a Gongdeok Station café where you can come for coffee and baked treats together. The shop is on the small side, as you can see in the photos, but there is seating at the back where you can eat in.

It’s also nice for sharing a sweet dessert over coffee while on a date in Gongdeok, so I’d recommend it as part of a Gongdeok date route too :) I’m already a repeat regular, and once again, I was so satisfied! If you’re looking for delicious baked goods near Gongdeok Station—especially a thoughtful dessert gift in Gongdeok—stop by Fluffy Bake Shop. I’ll probably go to Fluffy Bake Shop again even if I don’t have another reason to visit Track Bicycle haha. It’s already one of my regular Gongdeok spots :)
