Magok Station Mexican restaurant: nacho-chip crispy tacos, Taqueros

After work, my husband and I had a date near his office for the first time in a while. His company is near Magok Station, so I searched for good restaurants around there and found Taqueros Magok Main Branch, a Mexican restaurant! Here's the story of the fajita and tacos in the Taqueros couple set that fully satisfied me as a Magok favorite.

Where is Taqueros Magok Main Branch, and is there parking?

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is on the 2nd floor of Magok GMG Tower, right in front of Exit 3 of Magok Station, so it was easy to find. If you drive, the Magok GMG Tower parking lot offers up to 2 hours free parking.

I walked from Magoknaru Station, where Seoul Botanic Park is. From Exit 4 of Magoknaru Station it took about 6-7 minutes, including crossing two crosswalks.

Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and you'll walk right into Taqueros, a Magok favorite. Tex-Mex style interior, passionate red red♥️

Taqueros menu and how to order: nachos and queso dip refill free

You order via the QR code on the table. There was a wide variety of dishes — Texas BBQ ribs, chimichanga, enchilada, quesadilla, tacos, chili fries, buffalo wings, and more.

What we ordered was

• ✔️Orange ade +₩3,500 (₩3,000 off when ordered with a set)
• ✔️Lime draft beer ₩5,000
• ✔️Soju ₩5,000

The nachos and the queso dip that came with them were all free by default. At On the Border I think queso balls are like ₩7,900. At Taqueros, both the nachos and the queso dip are free, and refillable too. The nachos were crispy and nutty, really tasty.

There are two kinds of ade, apple mango and orange. The orange ade I ordered was bursting with fruit flavor. Personally, at any family restaurant, orange ade always seems to be the best.

Between the red interior and the good lighting, Taqueros photos come out great. (My husband was late so I was here alone taking pictures and having fun, haha)

What comes in the Taqueros signature couple set for two?

While I was waiting alone, the couple set for two arrived. It was even more generous than I expected — completely filled the table, haha.

Fish taco and crispy chicken taco at Taqueros, no cilantro

Two kinds — fish taco and crispy chicken taco. Shrimp taco was on the à la carte menu too, but with the set menu these two were fixed.

I didn't expect much from the fish taco, but it was better than I thought. Fried in a craft beer batter, it was super crispy and went really well with the sauce. It was a nice touch that they gave us plastic gloves so we didn't get our hands messy — you can't be licking your fingers on a date, right?

Taqueros is a great spot for chicken too! They say the chicken taco is fried Southern-US style, and since fried chicken means America, right — it was truly crispy and delicious. Taqueros tacos don't have cilantro in them, so people who can't handle cilantro can eat freely.

Inside the Taqueros fajita: the meats, the sauces, free tortilla refills

Fajita, a signature Tex-Mex (Texas-Mexico) dish. The tortillas came in a generous portion too, and it was great that you could get free refills if you ran out.

Two kinds of pork (carnitas, chorizo), shrimp, chicken, and vegetables and rice laid underneath.

The red-seasoned meat was pretty spicy, and both my husband and I agreed this pork was the tastiest thing. The chicken was already seasoned too, and tasty enough on its own that I kept picking at it with a fork instead of wrapping it.

You wrap it up with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and queso dip all together — everything except guacamole is refillable for free, so I didn't hold back on the sauces. I found that piling on lots of sour cream was the tastiest way for me.

Lime draft beer and soju: Taqueros as a Magok work-dinner spot

When my husband finally showed up 30 minutes late because of a meeting, I ordered him soju and beer. There are so many companies around Taqueros that it seems like a great choice for a Magok work dinner too. The draft beer is Budweiser 380ml, and it pairs really well with Mexican food.

The hack: fajita fillings on nacho chips make crispy tacos

My food-savvy husband started piling fajita fillings onto nacho chips, so I copied him — and it was completely delicious. This is basically a crispy taco!

Why Taqueros Magok suits dates, work dinners and wedding-invitation gatherings

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is great if you're taking a walk at Magok Botanic Garden and looking for a good restaurant nearby, or if you have a work dinner, wedding-invite gathering, or any other kind of get-together. The food was delicious, but the photos came out great too, so it was a nice date spot.

There's an event where you get a free mini cheesecake for wedding-invite gatherings or birthday parties, so making a Naver Reservation is a must! Just note it's for a wedding-invite gathering or birthday, and show your invite and ID once you arrive. Taqueros also has a kids' menu and high chairs, so I'd recommend it as a Magok favorite for family meals with kids too.
