Magok Mexican restaurant with guacamole and crispy pan rice: Taqueros

Today I want to introduce a Mexican taco restaurant in Magok that I hadn't visited in a while — Taqueros Magok Main Branch. This is my third visit already. It's surprisingly hard to find a good taco spot, right? Parking is easy and the food is good, so Taqueros Magok is the place that comes to mind whenever I'm craving Mexican food or tacos.

Where is Taqueros Magok Main Branch, and what are the hours and parking?

Taqueros is located on the 2nd floor of Magok GMG Tower. You can use the building's parking lot, which makes parking very convenient. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30–21:30, with a break time from 15:00–17:00, and it's closed every Monday.

What is Taqueros like inside? Room for team lunches and dates alike

Inside, Taqueros really has that Mexican restaurant atmosphere. The bold, unified red interior is impressive every time I visit. Tables are basically set for four, but they can be arranged for groups too — when I visited, there were quite a few groups that seemed to be having a company lunch. It's also known as a good Magok date spot, so plenty of couples come by in the evening after work or on weekends.

At Taqueros, you order by scanning the QR code attached to the table and ordering from your phone. The two of us ordered the Taqueros signature couple set (for 2). The set comes with chicken taco + fish taco + fajita.

Free nacho chips and cheese dipping sauce: what should you drink?

True to a Mexican specialty restaurant, nachos come out as a basic side. I kept mindlessly dipping the nacho chips into the cheese dipping sauce and suddenly felt full already, haha. That cheese dipping sauce is the real trap.

For drinks, I ordered apple mango ade and my partner ordered zero-sugar cola — I should've ordered the cola too. For Mexican food, cola or beer seems to go better than a sweet ade.

Chicken taco and fish taco at Taqueros: is the fish taco fishy?

The tacos came out first. My partner had the chicken taco and I had the fish taco. Oh! The fish taco was so much better than I expected. I'd worried it might taste a bit fishy, but that worry was unnecessary. Eaten warm, it was a genuinely delicious fish taco.

And then the main dish of the day, the fajita. It's a dish where you wrap pork, chicken, shrimp, and rice in a tortilla.

Fajita is a Mexican dish where the fun is wrapping various sauces into the tortilla. Especially with guacamole, which I love, piled on top — it's so good. It's a bit disappointing that guacamole refills aren't free, but since it's made from avocado, that makes sense : )

And the rice at the bottom of the sizzling pan gets crispy from being pressed against the hot metal, which is also a real treat. Even though we're not exactly light eaters, after finishing the fajita couple set at Taqueros, we were... really, really full.

Honest review: is Taqueros Magok worth it for tacos, fajitas and a date night?

It's surprisingly hard to find a proper Mexican restaurant, so it's great that a hidden gem like this exists in Magok : ) The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great — I recommend Taqueros Magok Main Branch as a Magok date restaurant.
