When the weather is nice, having a cool beer outside somehow tastes even better than eating indoors, doesn’t it? This time, I visited Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch, right near Nambu Terminal Station.

We ordered Crispy Chicken and Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken, then added Zero Cola and cold draft beer for a proper round of chimaek (chicken and beer). Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch is at 42 Seochojungang-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It is close to Exit 1 of Nambu Terminal Station, so it is easy to reach by public transportation.

One of the charms of this branch is its outdoor tables. There are tables outside too, so on days like these, when outdoor drinking is perfect, it looked like just the place for chicken and beer. Hours that work well for late-night chimaek

Since it stays open late, it works not only for dinner chimaek but also as a second stop.

Indoor or outdoor: where should you sit?

Once inside, the restaurant is more spacious than I expected. There are plenty of tables, so it looked good for a casual chimaek date for two or a gathering with a group.

On a nice day, you could eat outside, and on a particularly hot or cold day, you could sit comfortably indoors.

Kkanbu Chicken is especially popular these days, and this location had lots of celebrity signatures on display.

Ordering Crispy Chicken and Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken

Kkanbu Chicken has so many kinds of chicken that it was hard to decide what to get. We ordered Crispy Chicken, Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken, draft beer, and Zero Cola.

The savory-salty flavor of Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken

The first dish to arrive was the Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken. Being boneless made it easy to eat, and the garlic-and-soy-sauce combination paired nicely with beer.

It was savory and salty with a sharp garlic kick, the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching back for more. On days when you cannot be bothered picking meat off the bone, boneless chicken is the best, haha.

Spicy and crisp Crispy Chicken

Then the Crispy Chicken arrived. Just as its name suggests, the outside was wonderfully crisp, with a slight spiciness when you tasted it. It was different from plain fried chicken, with a spicy savoriness that made it delicious. Kkanbu Chicken also describes its Crispy Chicken as having amazing spicy umami and a crisp texture.

That crisp coating and spicy flavor naturally made me think of draft beer. The Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken was sweet and savory, while the Crispy Chicken was spicy and crisp, so the two were great to alternate between.

Draft beer is essential with chicken. One bite of crisp Crispy Chicken followed by a sip of cold draft beer—really, you cannot go wrong with chimaek.

We also ordered Zero Cola to enjoy alongside it according to our preferences. Sharing two kinds of chicken, Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken and Crispy Chicken, meant we enjoyed it right to the end without getting tired of it.

Kkanbu Chicken Nambu Terminal Branch was easy to reach from Nambu Terminal Station and had outdoor tables, making it a lovely spot for chimaek on a nice day. The Boneless Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken was easy to eat and had a delicious savory garlic-soy flavor, while the Crispy Chicken was lightly spicy with a properly crisp texture, which personally went really well with draft beer.
