Seocho odeng bar for a second round: Odeng Osaek
In short
Odeng Osaek Gangnam Station Branch is an izakaya-style odeng bar near Sinnonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. I stopped by for a second round after drinks and had an odeng set with Sen sake and tokkuri; the odeng and complimentary snack were excellent, while both sakes were not really my taste. Verdict: a great spot for warm odeng and conversation after your first stop.

Odeng Osaek Gangnam Station Branch is conveniently located near Exits 7 and 8 of Sinnonhyeon Station!

That day, we went hard on whiskey and... cocktails for our first round, then still wanted a little more, so we came to this izakaya-style odeng (Japanese-style fish cake) bar near Sinnonhyeon Station for round two 😇

There is an inflatable cat sign right at the entrance, giving off major Japan vibes, so it is sooo easy to find 😸

If you visit before 7 PM from Sunday through Thursday, draft beer is seriously buy one, get one free...!!!!

This Japanese vending machine is actually next door, but it is such a photo spot for creating that full-on Japan mood...!!! Hahaha, ah, I should have dressed up...!!

What was it like for a second round near Sinnonhyeon Station?
There were seriously so many people...!!! I was surprised too... 😱 I thought there would be no seats, haha. We specifically came because we wanted some simple odeng, but thankfully there was a table >.< It was not as loud as I expected, either!! We could chat just fine. Good ㅎ.ㅎ
It is not a terrace, but the windows by the entrance can open, so there are window seats too!! Such a perfect spot for weather like this ~ ~ 👍

Ordering the odeng set and sake
You cannot really see it, right? I will link the Naver Place page for you 🤣
- Odeng set ₩19,500
- Sen sake ₩12,000
- Tokkuri ₩12,000
This is what we had!

There was wasabi and fish-cake soy sauce on the table.

The complimentary snack I wanted to refill
For the complimentary snack, they bring Cham crackers and tuna... mayo...? tuna canapés. Oh... their complimentary snack game is strong. I do not usually eat much of the free snack, but this was so delicious I wanted a refill hahaha.

We ordered the Sen sake first! Hmm... not my style... haha. But are the little cups not so cute...!!!!?

They say you get one fish cup for a receipt review... 😮 I considered doing it because I wanted one, but... my laziness was stronger than my desire for it... 🤣🤣

An odeng set with cheese odeng and garaetteok
The set comes with two curly odeng, konjac, mul-tteok (rice cake simmered in broth), a shrimp fish-cake ball, dumpling fish cake, plus your choice of two house-made odeng. We chose the cheese odeng...? The garaetteok (long cylindrical rice cake) and fried tofu were seriously my favorites ㅜ.ㅜ

(Hahaha, can you see the bowl getting progressively messier?) That means we were properly getting stuck in. You know you have to leave the garaetteok until the very end, until it gets all plump and soaked through, right? >.<

The sake was a little disappointing, but the odeng? No question
The Sen sake and tokkuri had the same price and alcohol percentage, and... they tasted pretty similar to me too... haha. Bottom line: both were just okay. But the odeng? No question haha. It was so delicious. Plus, the complimentary snack too... yum.
((The restroom was clean!!))
