Today I want to share my visit to Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road, which recently opened in the Hongdae Red Road commercial area and is quickly becoming a hot spot. Unlike most chicken restaurants that focus mainly on delivery or takeout, this place had impressively clean, spacious indoor seating even though it just opened. I'll walk you through the vibe, the interior highlights, and my favorite menu item — the boneless Gochu Basasak (crispy spicy chicken) — along with the sauce combo I tried.
What is the inside of Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road like?
True to being a freshly opened store, Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road has that clean, polished new-store feel from the moment you walk in the door.

It sits right in the middle of Hongdae's young, lively streets, but once you step inside, what greets you first is a real sense of open space. The seating isn't crammed together — the tables are spaced generously apart, giving it an airy feel, and with plenty of tables it looked great for both group gatherings and casual chicken-and-beer meetups with friends.
First-floor bar tables: good for solo drinks or chicken and beer for two
This isn't just a quick in-and-out chicken restaurant — I was surprised at how much it felt like a modern, trendy pub or an atmospheric café 🧚♀️🎈

On the 1st floor there's a bar-style table space with soft lighting, perfect for solo drinkers or couples who want to enjoy chicken and beer in a moodier setting. Hip, special interior touches are scattered throughout the store, making it a great spot for photos and also a solid choice for a Hongdae date. Thanks to the spotlessly kept tables and trendy lighting, the whole meal felt even more enjoyable!
How does the boneless Gochu Basasak taste? Light, clean oven-roasted chicken
What I ordered was Goobne Chicken's forever-steady bestseller, the boneless Gochu Basasak (crispy spicy chicken).

✨ Juicy 100% chicken thigh: Goobne's boneless menu uses only 100% domestic chicken thigh meat, so there's zero dryness. The outside is dusted with chili powder and parsley for crunch, while the inside stays juicy and tender with every bite.
✨ The clean lightness of oven-roasting: Instead of deep-frying, it's oven-roasted, so it's low in oil. That means even eating it late at night as a midnight snack, it doesn't sit heavy — a real plus!

Adding Goblin sauce and Marbling sauce at Goobne Hongdae Red Road
I think the key to enjoying the Gochu Basasak to the fullest is the sauce combo, so I added Goblin sauce and Marbling sauce to try a mix of flavors.
✨ Goblin sauce (sharp, spicy jalapeño flavor): Made with jalapeño, this sauce has a distinctly spicy, sharp kick. Combined with the savory chicken, it delivers an addictive heat — an absolute must for spice lovers~

✨ Marbling sauce (smooth, savory mayo base): A mayonnaise-based sauce with a hint of spicy seasoning, rich and smooth. It gently softens the sharp edge of the Gochu Basasak, so even people who can't handle spice much can enjoy it worry-free.
✨ The ultimate sauce combo tip: Dipping alternately into the sharp Goblin sauce and the smooth Marbling sauce lets you cross between sweet-salty and spicy-savory flavors, so you can finish a whole chicken down to the last piece without ever getting tired of it.

Is this Hongdae chicken pub worth a visit? Final verdict

As a newly opened spot, it's not only clean and modern, but the seating is wide and plentiful, making it a fantastic place to comfortably enjoy chicken and beer in Hongdae.

If you want to feel the essence of oven-roasted chicken with a stylish interior amid the lively streets of Hongdae, definitely give Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road a visit!

The vibe was so good that I'm planning to come back again! 🎈❤️🎈
