Root touch-ups are always my homework every two or three months haha. I've kept brown hair for years now, so shouldn't my roots have learned the routine by now and just come out brown already?

With gray hair really piling up, I was searching for a root touch-up spot and found Pieum Hair Hapjeong Main Branch, a Hapjeong hair salon known for doing women's hair carefully with no damage, so I went to check it out ✌🏻

Getting to Pieum Hair: Hapjeong Station exit, free parking and the salon interior

Parking is available on the outside right, and it's right in front of Hapjeong Station, so it's really really easy to find. Being able to park right at Hapjeong Station makes visiting super convenient!

Pieum Hair is neatly organized, sunlight comes in well, and the mirrors are full-length, so there was nothing stuffy about getting the service done.

Various mobile pay options and bank transfer are available too~ Being able to pay with just your phone in hand is really convenient!

I got a root touch-up and a fringe cut. It was good timing too, right before the holiday~

Pieum Hair explains length surcharges really clearly too. Usually with length add-ons the price just shoots up and it's hard to estimate, but having it written out this precisely is helpful to check beforehand. Luckily I was able to get the service done without any extra length charge haha.

The salon's signature dog and the drink service

🤍Pieum Hair's signature🤍 puppy also greets the guests haha. It plays the role of brightening the mood. It doesn't stick around clinging to you though — it shows a bit of interest when you come in, then goes back to its own spot to rest, like it's done this greeting-the-guest routine more than once or twice haha. So cute!

Also, while doing my hair, it was hot that day, so they served cool green tea, which was so nice. Friendliness score ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They have coffee and various types of tea and will ask you which you'd like, and hot drinks are available too, just so you know.

Before: patchy gray roots against brown hair

First, the before photo haha. Clearly hopeless~~~ patchy with gray and black hair, before photo haha. Gray hair really seems to curl up extra and radiate its presence 😭😭

I don't often get to see my own scalp from above, so I didn't realize, but seeing it in a photo, the gray hair is no joke ㅠㅠ Feeling my age from how fast the gray grows in ㅠㅠ Phew, I'll come back transformed with a root touch-up!

They applied the dye carefully, one section at a time, from the scalp — so trustworthy, seriously. Usually the sideburns or hairline end up a bit under-applied and I have to ask for touch-ups, but with the manager at Pieum Hair I could feel it was done perfectly, no need to say another word. It felt unusually comfortable even while waiting!!

After: brown root color with no visible color gap

I attached the earlier before photo again on purpose here so you can compare haha. You can see the fringe was trimmed nicely too, right?

The curliness of the gray hair is gone, and the color came out with absolutely perfect root touch-up with no gap at all ✨✨

The shampoo included a full massage too haha, nice and refreshing, and they dried it neatly. The blow-dry was light, and a root touch-up with zero mismatch from my existing hair color was completed!! They even cut my fringe as a holiday service, so double the impression.
