Donggyo-dong pizza restaurant in Seoul: Ray Set with sausage platter

Today I'm recommending a pizza restaurant near Hongik University Station — I went and had a great meal at Raymond's Hongdae.

Where is Raymond's Hongdae? 2 minutes from Exit 8, Hongik University Station

Raymond's Hongdae is at 15 Yanghwa-ro 18an-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 1st floor, a 2-minute walk from Exit 8 of Hongik University Station. It's right in front of the station so it was easy to find.

This Hongdae pizza spot, just a 2-minute walk from Exit 8, was great to have right in front of the station. The exterior itself has this exotic vibe going on — honestly a great photo spot for influencers too, haha.

Inside Raymond's Hongdae: atmosphere and seating

I visited on a really hot day, and maybe the AC didn't reach my seat well, but it wasn't super cool inside :( The seating itself was clean and comfortable though, and the interior reminded me of an American pizza place. The huge pizzas also caught my eye!

Raymond's Hongdae menu and prices

Raymond's Hongdae sells pizza by the slice too, but the set menus that come with sides felt like solid value! Single pizza slices ranged from ₩6,500 to ₩8,900, and they also sell tteokbokki, chicken, and sausage, which seemed perfect to pair with beer.

What comes in the 49,900-won Ray Set?

Among the options, I ordered the Ray Set, which felt like the best value! It comes with one slice each of 4 different pizzas, plus truffle fries and a sausage platter, listed as serving 2–4 people! All that for ₩49,900... godly value!!!!!!

Truffle fries at Raymond's Hongdae, with or without the oil

The fries could be ordered without the truffle oil, but I got mine with it!!! The fries themselves were thin, so it felt more like eating potato chips. As someone who doesn't love thick fries, this was very satisfying, and the truffle oil scent was subtle and nice :-)

Tasting all 4 pizzas in the Ray Set

The Ray Set at Raymond's Hongdae came with one slice each of mac and cheese, pepperoni, bacon Hawaiian, and cheese pizza — 4 kinds total. First, the mac and cheese pizza — a combo of mac and cheese, macaroni, and rosé cream sauce — was the tastiest of the four! No greasiness at all, actually savory and nutty. Mac and cheese can do no wrong - ♥♥ Second was the pepperoni pizza, based on Italian tomato sauce, which felt like eating real Italian pizza. The pepperoni was salty in just the way I like, haha.

Third was the bacon Hawaiian pizza!!! A sweet-and-salty combo of bacon and pineapple, with the pineapple in just the right amount — I'd recommend this as a good entry point for Hawaiian pizza. Think of it like a bacon pizza with pineapple topping added! Last, the fourth, cheese pizza — honestly, you can't go wrong with the classic combo!! It was loaded with all kinds of cheese: 100% natural mozzarella, cheddar, and grana padano.

The pizza size was seriously unreal.... 🥹 Each slice was big enough to fit three fists, and the smell kept drawing me back to grab another piece.

The 5 sauces and the sausage platter

There were 5 sauces total — ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, sour cream sauce, and cheese sauce, I believe!!! They were great for dipping the sausage and fries. The sour cream sauce paired especially well with the fries, and the barbecue sauce was the best match for the sausage :)

Is one Ray Set enough for two people?

The pizzas at Raymond's Hongdae were so huge that I cut everything in half and split all 4 flavors with a friend!! I was seriously stuffed by the end, but I enjoyed every bite the whole way through, no regrets. Saving this as a place I want to come back to! ✨💛
