Why I came to Daesin for dessert after lunch in Namdaemun Market

After lunch near Namdaemun, I was strolling around and dropped by Daesin Ttangkong-ppang (대신땅콩빵) Namdaemun Market branch for dessert. I'm the type who always has to have dessert after a meal, so I was wondering what to get, and here we are!

The shop is right next to the entrance to Galchi Alley (Hairtail Alley) in Namdaemun Market! I had eaten Daesin's peanut bread on a summer trip to Busan and loved it, so when I saw they'd opened a new place in Namdaemun, I knew I had to stop by.

Daesin is famous as a tasty snack at Seomun Market in Daegu, so I was curious when I heard you can now get it at Namdaemun Market in Seoul too. There's so much good food when you wander a market, right? And peanut bread with nutty peanuts inside? No way I could walk past. 😊 It's already got a reputation, so there was a line~!!

When you think of Daesin's peanut bread, the first thing that comes to mind is that rich, nutty flavor. Just looking at it, you can feel the homey vibe of a classic market snack.

Since Daesin became famous at Seomun Market in Daegu, I was even more curious. If you've tried it at Seomun Market before, I think you'll be happy to see the Seoul Namdaemun branch!

I was also impressed by seeing the peanut bread being made right in the shop. Seeing the appetizing snacks on display really made it feel like a market, and I wanted to try them one by one.
Taste matters for a snack, but watching it get made on the spot is fun too. It's nice for a light bite while exploring Namdaemun Market, and if you like nutty peanut snacks, it's worth a look.

Does Daesin sell peanut butter too?
Yes, the Namdaemun Market branch also sells 100% peanut butter. Dieting with peanuts has been popular for a long time, hasn't it?
Peanuts aren't just tasty, they're said to contain a range of nutrients. They're rich in protein and unsaturated fats, which can help with cardiovascular health, and the dietary fiber is said to help you stay full and support gut health. They also contain antioxidants like vitamin E and polyphenols, plus nutrients like magnesium and folate!

How much is the peanut bread at Daesin?
The peanut bread at Daesin's Namdaemun Market branch is 20 pieces for ₩3,000. With prices these days, I think it's a great-value snack with real peanuts inside.

The 1kg of peanuts I bought at Daesin: ₩10,000 for how much?
On this visit I also took home 1kg of peanuts from the shop. Peanuts are tasty on their own, but they're also great to keep at home as a snack or use in all kinds of dishes.

When I opened the bag, a rich peanut aroma hit me right away. They were fresh peanuts. At ₩10,000 for 1kg it's cheap, and there was a huge amount!
