When you go to a market, street snacks are a must, right? Namdaemun Market has so many kinds of snacks, and it turns out the market also has peanut bread, one of the classic market treats. Today I'm introducing Daesin Ttangkong-ppang (대신땅콩빵), one of Namdaemun Market's signature snacks.
Where is Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch, and where do you park?
Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch is inside Namdaemun Market in Namchang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, about 189 m from Exit 5 of Hoehyeon Station on Subway Line 4.

Daesin has no parking lot of its own, so it's easiest to use a nearby one. The Woori Bank underground parking lot or the Shinsegae Department Store parking lot seem to be the best options. Namdaemun Market is crowded, though, so I think walking is better than driving.
What kind of place is Daesin Ttangkong-ppang?
They say Daesin is the only shop in Korea making its peanut bread with 100% of its own batter. With good peanuts and good batter, it feels like a snack you can trust.

Daesin Namdaemun Market branch menu and pack sizes
The Namdaemun Market branch sells peanut bread, egg bread, peanut latte, peanut butter creamy and roasted peanuts.

When you think of peanut foods, peanut bread is probably about it, but Daesin also sells peanut latte, peanut butter and more, so you can enjoy peanuts in lots of ways.

Peanut bread comes in 20, 45 or 80 pieces. For big orders they can pack it in a paper box, so it looked good as a gift. The peanut butter comes in a glass jar with box packaging too, so that seems like a nice gift as well.

I ordered peanut bread and egg bread
- Peanut bread
- Egg bread
I ordered peanut bread and egg bread at Daesin. Maybe because I was tired, I kept craving food while shopping at Namdaemun Market and kept hunting for snacks. 🥪 It was interesting to see foreign tourists buying peanut bread as a snack too. It must suit their tastes as well!

How did the fresh peanut bread taste?
Piping hot, fresh-out-of-the-oven peanut bread went perfectly with a cup of iced coffee. The whole peanuts inside gave it a fun, crunchy bite. Maybe because they make their own batter, the bread part tasted even better too.

How do you reheat takeout peanut bread?
If you take peanut bread away, running it in an air fryer at 180°C for 50–60 seconds gives you the same texture as when you first bought it. They say peanut bread is delicious frozen too. The fresh ones were so good that I finished them all right there, so I had none left over. Next time I should buy more and try freezing some.

Daesin egg bread: taste and how to reheat
The fresh egg bread from Daesin was also super soft and fluffy, and really tasty. If you can't eat it right away, they say microwaving it for 15–20 seconds or air frying it at 160°C for 4–5 minutes works well.

They were fresh from the oven, so I devoured them on the spot, like a storm. If you follow the reheating methods, I think they'd taste good at home after takeout too.

Is it a good snack to recommend while shopping at Namdaemun Market?
Thanks to Daesin, a Namdaemun Market favorite, I was able to get going again with my Namdaemun Market shopping after getting a little worn out. After a tasty snack, I had the energy to walk around again.

📍 If you're looking for a snack near Namdaemun Market or Hoehyeon Station, I recommend Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch. Enjoy tasty snacks and a lovely time at Namdaemun Market! 💛
