Hanwoo beef restaurant in Seocho, Seoul: bulgogi hotpot at Seogyeong
In short
Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza Arts Center branch is a butcher-shop restaurant specialising in female hanwoo (Korean beef) on Myeongdal-ro in Seocho, Seoul, run directly by the Seoul-Gyeonggi Hanwoo Cooperative. Two of us shared the female hanwoo bulgogi hotpot (18,000 won, minimum order for two) and steamed egg, and the light, never-salty broth and the rice cooked from Icheon rice stood out. With a spacious hall, private rooms and 3 hours of free parking, Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza handles family gatherings and group dinners with ease.

I visited Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza Arts Center branch, a great spot for a clean, hearty meal near the Seoul Arts Center. It's run by the Seoul-Gyeonggi Hanwoo Cooperative, so the meat quality is solid, and the restaurant itself is spacious and pleasant — I had a satisfying lunch here.

Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza gives off a clean, dedicated meat-restaurant vibe from the building exterior alone. Step through the entrance and you're greeted by menu banners — besides the hanwoo assorted set or lunch set, there are also specialty dishes like perilla oil yukhoe (raw beef) makguksu noodles.

Inside Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza: spacious hall, private rooms, tablet ordering
The interior of Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza Arts Center branch was spacious and pleasant, with marble-toned tables and a modern interior. Every table had a tablet ordering device, which made ordering easy.
Opening the glass door at the entrance, I noticed celebrity signatures on one wall — this place already seemed to be a locally known favorite! Inside, marble-toned tables and a round accent wall created a calm atmosphere. Each seat had its own tablet for ordering, which was convenient.

The interior is decorated with marble-look tables and a modern design, making it very spacious and comfortable. There's a large hall as well as a separate private room, so the space is more than enough for a family gathering or group dinner.

On one side there's a neatly maintained self-serve corner, so you can freely grab more side dishes without feeling self-conscious about it.
What does the 18,000-won female hanwoo bulgogi hotpot taste like?
What we ordered that day was the female hanwoo bulgogi hotpot for ₩18,000, which requires a minimum order for two. The hotpot arrives generously filled with fresh hanwoo (Korean beef) along with mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, glass noodles, sliced green onion, and carrots.

This is the main dish we ordered — hanwoo bulgogi hotpot! You simmer it and scoop out the meat with the vegetables, and the broth was really delicious — not salty at all, light but with deep flavor.

The basic side dishes — cubed radish kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned bellflower root, and kimchi — were also neatly prepared, showing real care.

One bite of the clean, deep broth and the tender meat, and you could immediately tell this was quality hanwoo. The meat at this Seocho hanwoo restaurant comes from a female hanwoo specialty shop directly run by the Seoul-Gyeonggi Hanwoo Cooperative — as expected, the secret to the flavor was in the quality beef.

Icheon rice and steamed egg with the hanwoo hotpot
At the entrance there was a sign certifying the restaurant as a designated Icheon rice establishment, meaning they use only Icheon rice. The moment I opened the rice bowl lid and saw the glossy, shiny rice, my trust went up — from CESCO pest management to the rice itself, everything felt carefully managed.
The steamed egg we ordered as an extra had a fluffy texture and a nutty flavor — a great side to go with the hotpot.

Dessert corner: brewed coffee and ice cream
On the way out after the meal, there's a neatly arranged dessert corner. Complete with a coffee machine and even a soft-serve ice cream machine, it was a nice way to cleanse the palate.
Is Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza worth it near the Seoul Arts Center?
This was a Seocho hanwoo restaurant where the two of us enjoyed a clean, deeply savory hanwoo bulgogi hotpot. In a spacious, comfortable space, using premium female hanwoo, we got to eat fresh, high-quality beef — and with the delicious Icheon rice on top, it was a satisfying meal overall. If you're visiting the Seoul Arts Center, I'd recommend saving Seogyeong Hanwoo Plaza Arts Center branch for your visit.
