Seongsu brunch restaurant with crispy spicy eggplant: Brivite Seongsu
In short
Brivite Seongsu is a Western-style brunch restaurant near Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul. We tried the ₩50,700 Beet Set with scallion cream corn gnocchi, salmon steak pasta, and crispy spicy eggplant. Verdict: a great two-person set for sampling inventive Western dishes in Seongsu.

I come to Seongsu for dates pretty often, and this time, while walking near Ttukseom Station, I found a spot that looked lovely and had good reviews, so I decided to visit. It’s a brunch place I’d recommend to anyone looking for a nice date spot in Seongsu or a proper Western-style restaurant✨

Finding Brivite Seongsu from Ttukseom Station
Brivite Seongsu is close to Ttukseom Station, so it takes just five minutes on foot! It’s in a great location if you’re in Seongsu for a date. As you walk down the alley, its vivid purple exterior stands out, so it was easier to find than I expected🩷

Rather than feeling like an ordinary restaurant, it had the atmosphere of a European brunch café. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to take a photo at the entrance before you even go in 📸✨
A warm wood-toned interior
Inside, everything was clean and pleasantly maintained, and the space had a lovely atmosphere for a date or gathering. Warm wood tones formed the overall base, with white tiles mixed in just enough to keep it looking crisp.

Green and red accents throughout kept the space from feeling plain, and the unique patterns on the chair backs especially caught my eye. It felt a little different from the predictable interiors you often see in Seongsu, so it was fun to look around—and personally, I really loved the atmosphere haha. It had exactly that cute, pretty brunch-café feel, which made it even better. The restaurant was fairly spacious too🌟

Once you’ve chosen your menu, just shake the bell on the table to call a staff member🔔

They were running a review event too, so keep that in mind~~^0^
A self-service bar with cabbage pickles

The self-service bar is at the back right of the restaurant, where you can freely help yourself to cabbage pickles and water. The pickles were tasty too, so I kept reaching for them while eating haha. (Since the restaurant is called Brivite, maybe the pickles were brined with beets...?)

Even the wet wipes weren’t just a typical product—they had a cute pattern, perhaps made especially for the restaurant. I loved seeing that they had put care into even these little details🫶
What we ordered with the Beet Set

After looking over the menu, we ordered the Beet Set because it seemed like a good value! For a two-person set, you can choose two mains, one side, and two drinks, so it’s quite a substantial spread haha. If you visit Brivite, I’d recommend ordering a set such as the Bri Set or Beet Set instead of individual dishes! We chose scallion cream corn gnocchi and salmon steak pasta as our mains, plus the crispy spicy eggplant side, which had good reviews. For drinks, we ordered grapefruit Briade and Pepsi Zero🍊🥤

Scallion cream corn gnocchi
When I had gnocchi at another Western-style restaurant before, the sauce was so rich and the gnocchi was so thick and soft that the texture really stood out. But the scallion cream corn gnocchi at Brivite Seongsu had a subtle scallion flavor that cut through the heaviness of the cream, so it wasn’t overwhelming. The gnocchi was pleasantly chewy too.

It paired wonderfully with super-sweet corn🌽🤍 The texture and flavor were both the best~~👍

Bacon chips and olives on top made the flavor even richer. I was so satisfied that I scraped up every last bit of sauce hahaෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ

Salmon steak pasta
The salmon steak pasta we ordered alongside it is also one of Brivite’s signature pastas.

The salmon was lightly crisp on the outside and moist inside. The sauce was a spicy ragù sauce! It felt homemade rather than like a store-bought sauce, and it went so well with the salmon steak💓 The thickly cooked salmon steak was the key! It was even, even, even more delicious eaten together.

The crispy spicy eggplant I remember most
And the dish that stayed with me most was the crispy spicy eggplant. My husband, who normally doesn’t like eggplant because of its soft texture, ate this one happily, saying it was delicious lol.

Dipping the crisp-fried eggplant generously into the spicy chipotle sauce that came with it kept it from feeling greasy. It was fried so well that there was hardly any of eggplant’s signature soft texture, which I was very happy about!

Sipping the grapefruit Briade with the food now and then was great for refreshing the palate haha. Its color was pretty too, perfect for photos!🍊 Our Beet Set was less of a price commitment than the Bri Set but still very well rounded, making it great for two people to try a variety of dishes. If you want something a little different from the usual Western-style menu in Seongsu, I recommend visiting Brivite Seongsu!✨
