Sinnonhyeon lunch set: ₩20,000 Jeju black pork at a Gangnam BBQ spot
In short
Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Station Main Branch is a Jeju black pork and hanwoo beef Korean BBQ restaurant one minute from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Three of us ordered the lunch-only Jeju black pork set at 20,000 won per person, which came as one full table of five-layer pork belly, fresh pork kimchi-jjigae, side dishes, rice and lettuce wraps, with staff charcoal-grilling the meat from start to finish. It is a well-priced lunch that fills you up and still gets you back to work on time.

A Sinnonhyeon lunch where the staff grill the pork for you
The reason I start looking forward to lunchtime. What does a successful life look like? Eating grilled pork belly at lunch, that's what. And even better — a place where someone else grills it for you perfectly, not me?

A place where black pork, kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew) and a bunch of side dishes all come for just 20,000 won — that's Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang, a Sinnonhyeon favorite. If you work anywhere near Gangnam, you probably already know this meat spot!
🕰️ Hours: Mon–Sun 11:00–23:00 / 🚗 Parking: available (in front of the restaurant) / 🎊 Draw: 1++ grade hanwoo and Jeju black pork at reasonable prices, right in Gangnam

One minute from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3: location and the room
The main branch of Deo Bareun! It's just one minute from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. Location: GOOD.

Already a verified favorite with multiple Blue Ribbon awards!
Maybe because it's already a certified favorite, there's a wait during peak hours. But the interior is spacious, so the line moves fast — good to know!
Inside there's a separate wine fridge, and you can see meat aging on display. I guess that's why the aging makes the meat chewier and tastier.

Private rooms for team lunches and company dinners
There are table seats and also private rooms, making it a solid pick for a company dinner. My own company has already come here multiple times — a real favorite!!
The rooms are separated, so if things get a little loud after a few drinks, staff quietly close the door for you.
The restroom at this Sinnonhyeon favorite is inside the restaurant and kept clean.

What does the 20,000-won Jeju black pork lunch set include?
What we came here to eat: the "Jeju black pork set," one of the lunch specials. It's 20,000 won per person, but that includes side dishes and stew, so you walk out very full.
We visited as three and ordered three sets. Wow, even just looking at it, the quality of this black pork is clearly high! Since it's pork belly shipped directly from Jeju, the chewy texture and savoriness are outstanding.

Ta-da, the fresh pork kimchi-jjigae arrived too. Maybe because the kimchi itself is so good, the broth is amazing... a perfect partner for the pork belly.

Side dishes, with free refills
The side dishes at this Sinnonhyeon favorite are impressive too. They're good enough to eat with plain rice alone, and honestly so good you end up refilling at least once.

The steamed cabbage and this ham in particular are really tasty. You can grill the ham on the pan too, which brought back memories of old-school packed lunches (ahem), if you know what I mean, haha.
Five-layer pork belly grilled by the staff from start to finish
The meat is grilled by staff from beginning to end. King oyster mushrooms and fermented shrimp sauce (melgeot) come alongside it.
Ta-da — assorted lettuce wraps, side dishes, a bowl of warm rice, and the pork belly and kimchi-jjigae, all together. A full table setting for just 20,000 won is incredible value.
Grilled over charcoal, the outside comes out crispy while the inside stays tender and full of juice.
My personal go-to, this Sinnonhyeon favorite. Honestly, the pork I ate here was better than the black pork I had in Jeju itself... you don't even need to go all the way to Jeju.
While the meat cooks, the kimchi-jjigae simmers away nicely too. It's tasty right away, but as they say, stew only gets better the longer it simmers!
The pork belly has score marks cut into it so it cooks evenly all over. The fatty edges in particular turn out crispy and chewy — you know it's the real deal when even the fat is delicious.

Does the smoke smell stay on your clothes?
At this Sinnonhyeon favorite, the smell doesn't cling to you. The grill itself seems to absorb all the smoke, and I've never once felt bothered by meat smell here.

Golden-brown pork belly sizzling away! This is the pork belly that finally got me to stop going to chain restaurants.
With such skillful hands doing the grilling, there's no way it could taste bad. The color of the meat is incredible too — it's grilled so well every time that I always leave satisfied.
Once it's fully grilled, they neatly stack it to one side like this. The first bite goes into the melgeot (fermented shrimp sauce). Savory with a rush of umami — a great signal to kick things off properly.

This is it, this is exactly it... freshly grilled pork belly, I'm telling you.

Pork belly that's delicious even just wrapped with a slice of garlic. It's great on its own, but even better with rice, perilla leaves or garlic.

The thick-cut meat is packed with juice, growing more savory the more you chew, and the aging makes the texture really tender. A Sinnonhyeon favorite you can trust for quality.
Fresh pork kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew)
Every so often they top up the kimchi-jjigae as a palate cleanser between bites. There's plenty of kimchi and tofu in it too! A kimchi-jjigae so good you won't even miss the grilled kimchi.

Is this Sinnonhyeon lunch set worth it?
Scraped the plate clean! This is what lunchtime should be. Having staff grill for you saves time and makes everything taste even better. Tidy side dishes, an upscale interior, and above all the chance to enjoy well-aged meat at its best — that's Deo Bareun Jeongyuk Sikdang, a true Sinnonhyeon favorite.
