Silver ring workshop in Uijeongbu: X-design couple rings at Ring Plus

Today was a real, proper date day with my partner! We made couple silver rings ourselves at Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch, and it was such a sweet, fun date, the first in a long while. So happy!

Where is Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch, and how is parking?

Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch is a 6-minute walk from Uijeongbu Station, in the McDonald's building, so it's easy to find. It's close to the station, so I recommend public transport! We drove, and the nearby public lot was full, so after two failed tries we finally parked at the third public lot and paid ₩6,000.. haha..

Opening hours are daily 12:00–21:00.

Ring Plus is on the 5th floor of the McDonald's building. Being in a McDonald's building makes it super easy to find!

Take the McDonald's elevator to the 3rd floor, then the stairs up to the 5th! You can also walk the stairs all the way from the 1st floor to the 5th. Once you arrive, the signs make it easy to find.

What is the atmosphere inside Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch?

Inside, the space is divided by partitions, so couples can enjoy a private date. It's a cozy space.

There are various tools, and aprons are ready for the dust that flies while making silver rings. There was also a notice about a Polaroid photo event, which I read.

How does the couple ring-making go?

Size check

At Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch, you check your size before starting. You find the ring size for the finger you want! The staff measured carefully, so you can go in knowing nothing!!

Choosing a design

Next is choosing the design. They were all so pretty that it was hard to pick. In person they sparkle and glow even more. They look like real white gold wedding rings. After a long think, my partner and I each chose a different ring: similar, but not a set. Couple rings, but with different feelings! I really love the designs!

Demo, then shaping and polishing it yourself

They bring the ring you chose, and at first it looks like this, raw!

A staff member demonstrates first, then checks on us once while we work and steps away. It's not hard; just do exactly as they explained.

You shape and polish the sides and the front of the ring.

The scary-looking tools aren't dangerous at all. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Making a ring yourself feels really meaningful. My partner and I made each other's rings, which made it even more meaningful and fun. The front with the cubic stones is tricky, so the staff do it, and we only worked on the smooth side without stones. It was so fun and exciting!!!!!!!!

How long does it take, and how does it fit into a date?

Making the rings at Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch takes about 1 hour! After that you leave the rings for finishing, and they said you could pick them up 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes later, but it actually took about 2 hours!

I didn't know that, so my partner had already eaten, and we just had coffee at a café! If you're putting this in a date course, make the rings first and then have a meal!!! The timing should be perfect!!!

The finished couple silver rings: X design with one diamond-shine face

Ta-da! The result!!!!!!!! The rings suddenly look completely different! At Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch you can choose glossy, matte or diamond shine, and since ours is an X design with 4 faces, we chose diamond shine for just 1 face. I was very happy about being able to choose in such detail!!!!!

They gave us the rings together with the Polaroid photo we took, and it was kind of moving....! It felt like a really fun, fulfilling date after a long time, and I was in such a good mood all day!!!!!!!

I'd recommend it not only to couples before marriage but also to married couples, as a fun and fresh kind of date!!!!!!
