Ring workshop in Uijeongbu: Axis couple rings, sizing tip at Ring Plus

If you want a special date with your partner, I recommend a ring workshop in Uijeongbu, Ring Plus! I made couple rings at Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch (반지더하기 의정부점) and had a really special date.

Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch: location and hours

Ring Plus Uijeongbu Branch is at 11 Haengbok-ro, 5th floor, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi, and it is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00. Groups and pets are welcome, and you can book ahead. There is no parking on site, but if you call, they will send you a map of nearby car parks.

How to find the Ring Plus entrance

Go in through the McDonald's entrance, take the McDonald's elevator to the 3rd floor, then walk up the stairs two floors and you will find the Ring Plus entrance. It is easier than it sounds, so you will find it quickly.

What kind of workshop is Ring Plus Uijeongbu?

Right inside the entrance, ring samples are laid out nicely, so you can browse the designs and more. Ring Plus is said to be Uijeongbu's number one hot-spot ring workshop, with over 20,000 couples visiting in 10 years. Couple rings, family rings, friendship rings: making rings for a special occasion sounds like a great idea.

Everything happens in a private room

What I loved most about Ring Plus Uijeongbu is that it all happens in a private room. Other workshops have open seating with seats packed close together, which can be uncomfortable. Here we could chat just the two of us without being disturbed, and that was one of my favorite things.

Inside the room, two aprons hang ready and the workbench is neatly set up.

Polaroid photo event

While we were making our rings, a staff member took Polaroid photos of us. They shoot it and you even get the print!! Isn't that great?

How do you measure your couple ring size?

At Ring Plus Uijeongbu, you measure your ring size yourself with the sizing rings in the room, write down your details, then call a staff member to move on to the next step. Why is the staff here so nice?? They kindly guided us through the room and explained the instructions and the size check so warmly that it all just sank in!!

Ring prices and design: Axis, with a flat price and no extra option fees

Ring Plus Uijeongbu has a flat price with no extra option fees, and after much deliberation we went with the Axis design. They say the range was created in collaboration with a jewelry designer with 30 years of experience, offering elegant and varied designs. Maybe that is why every design was pretty, and since prices were explained too, it was easy to browse.

Our sizes were M 14.0 / F 14.5, and my partner went above size 20, so there was a surcharge.

What is the couple ring-making process like?

After choosing the design, we sat at the workbench. The workbench at Ring Plus goes in order from the left.

Filing the ring

A staff member shapes our chosen design into a round ring, and then we file the remaining parts ourselves. Even unfinished, I loved how it looked, hehe. The kind staff member also had us try the ring on again to double-check the size, and it fit properly, so we went ahead.

Sanding, polishing and same-day pickup

I sanded away and buffed it until it sparkled, and I tried to film it like a YouTuber but the focus was totally off, haha. Still, it was fun to shape and polish it myself. Thanks to the private room, we chatted the whole time, which made it even more memorable.

After finishing our part, we called a staff member over and handed the rings in, and they said the final finishing takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. I also liked that Ring Plus Uijeongbu lets you take your rings home the same day.

The finished couple rings: did the size fit?

The finished Axis couple rings looked like store-bought ones, but when I put mine on, it felt a little looser than when we first sized it. They called after about 1 hour 30 minutes and we went to pick them up. They asked us to choose a bag to carry them in, and I picked purple without a second thought, haha. My partner chimed in, "Purple, obviously?" lol

Anyway, after choosing a bag I saw the finished rings and they were just radiant!!!!! They came out flawless, like store-bought ones, and so pretty. But the ring that fit snugly during the test had gotten slightly bigger. It is not loose enough to fly off when I wave my hand, just easier for me to take on and off, so it was fine. Knowing it gets filed down, I should have gone for a size 8, oh well, hehe. I was also so happy to get the Polaroid photos from the earlier event!

Wearing shots and free aftercare

Ring Plus Uijeongbu even offers unlimited free aftercare (free repair if a stone falls out, tarnish care, scratch removal). I tried on the finished ring and it was so pretty I got emotional!! The solid aftercare made me like it even more. Looking at it again, it is so radiant and so pretty!!

Ever since our anniversary, gold prices had skyrocketed and we couldn't get rings made, so we were both happy to finally get such beautifully designed rings this time 👍
