Gopchang hot pot in Bangi-dong's food alley
My partner and I visited Horanggul Bangi Branch (호랑이굴 방이점), a genuinely great spot for gopchang-jeongol (beef offal hot pot) for work dinners in Bangi-dong! It is a pub that sells gopchang-jeongol, one of our couple's favorite dishes, as its main item, so I had wanted to visit for ages. We got another great opportunity to go this time, haha.

Horanggul Bangi Branch is right on the main stretch of Bangi-dong's food alley! It was super accessible, about a five-minute walk from both Jamsil Station and Songpanaru Station. I totally recommend it for a Jamsil date too!! Parking is not available, so we parked in a nearby paid lot before visiting, haha.

A modern, cozy pub atmosphere
After passing through the lively Bangi-dong food alley, we headed straight inside! It had such a modern yet cozy pub feel, and the atmosphere was really lovely. We visited outside peak hours, but the place was already bustling with diners, haha.

Noodles and risotto after the gopchang hot pot
You can order from the menu by QR code, and what looked so fresh and delicious was that, after finishing the main gopchang hot pot, you can make noodles and risotto with it! Haha. There were plenty of other side dishes too, so you could order to suit your tastes. Seriously, the menu is perfect for an office team dinner!

They say they will add a meat service if you take part in a receipt review, so we absolutely had to join in, right??

A hot pot set up by staff when the timer rings
Finally, the hot pot arrived! The staff gave us a timer, and when it finished, they came over and set everything up so it would be ready to eat. So first, you just wait, haha.

While we waited, we carefully read the instructions for enjoying it that were posted on the table! Haha. Just reading the directions made my mouth water, and I wanted to eat it quicklyㅠㅠ

Rich, gently spicy gopchang hot pot
At last, after that agonizing wait, the finished gopchang hot pot! Wow, first of all, the visuals... it simply looked like something that could not possibly taste bad, so I was stunned! My salivary glands were going wild... When the timer rings, a staff member comes over and gets it all neatly set up like this, haha.

The rich, pleasantly spicy broth was filled with all sorts of toppings too! From tofu and yubu (fried tofu pouches) to mung bean sprouts, gopchang, and daechang (beef large intestine), the selection and portion felt like really good value for the price??!!

I neatly served some into my small plate and quickly took a sip of the broth first! Wow, the rich broth was exactly my kind of flavor, and it was nicely spicy (you can choose the spice level), making it a delicious level even for a couple like us who cannot handle much heat, haha.

And true to a proper gopchang hot pot, it was packed full of gopchang, which I loved! All the ingredients felt really fresh too??

Finishing with cheese-loaded risotto
As a couple, we could not possibly skip dessert-style risotto! We happily debated which kind to have, then chose the cheese risotto. Watching the staff pile in so, so much cheese made me think we had chosen well, haha.

Ta-da! The cheese risotto was finally ready! I was so curious about the other kinds too, but we tried the basic one first. The broth itself was already perfectly seasoned and delicious, so the risotto was nicely seasoned and so tasty... It had a different feel from fried rice, you know? With a huge amount of cheese on top, it honestly felt like eating risotto from a really well-made Italian restaurant, making it absolutely perfect as a meal!
From the atmosphere and value to the flavor, Horanggul Bangi Branch was so good! It is already such a famous spot that I could not not visit. We left very satisfied with the delicious gopchang hot pot, the other side dishes, and even the finishing menu!
