Songpa Seoul Korean BBQ for juicy pork neck: Yukmong
In short
Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Songpa, Seoul, about a 6-minute walk from Seokchon Lake. I added galbi samgyeop and mul naengmyeon to the Korean pork set, and the staff-grilled pork neck was unbelievably juicy. Verdict: a wonderful stop for a date or group meal after a Seokchon Lake walk.

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch after a Seokchon Lake walk
As the weather has turned cooler, it has become perfect for walks and runs, right? Haha. After a walk around Seokchon Lake, I found a Korean barbecue restaurant that would be absolutely great for a meal, date, or even a company meeting nearby, so I wanted to introduce it.
Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch (육몽 방이직영점) is about a 6-minute walk from Seokchon Lake and near Seokchon Lake Gallery. It is really close, so it would be lovely to have a meal and go on a date in the cool weather, or visit after a musical or Lotte World.

Yukmong is already hugely famous in Sinyongsan, so I was surprised to hear it was newly opening here in Bangi-dong. It is a proven barbecue spot, so without even comparing it with anywhere else, you will get to experience top-tier flavor already, haha.
A clean, multi-floor interior and the menu
I arrived right at opening and ate in the first-floor dining hall. Perhaps because the interior was newly done, it was so clean, haha. With several floors, it also seemed like a great place for an outside meeting or company dinner.
The menu is broadly divided into three categories: beef, pork, and seasonal sashimi.

There are special assorted platters and seasonal sashimi,

as well as Korean beef sets and Korean pork sets.

There was such a wide variety of sides. Their caviar cheese steamed egg is also famous, and they had minari yukhoe (beef tartare with water parsley), pork rind, kimchi fried rice, chadolbagi hangover ramen, doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew), and more. They were all the essential, can’t-miss dishes at a barbecue restaurant, so the side menu looked incredibly appetizing too.
They say you can receive ramen or yukhoe as a complimentary item if you join the review event. Be sure to participate and try even more delicious dishes!
The table setting and a custom griddle for the meat

As soon as we sat down, the basic table setting came out like this. Flavorful Korean side dishes were laid out, along with sauces, salt, and more to enjoy with the meat.

They set a griddle on the table, and it seemed custom-made for Yukmong’s meat! I could not wait to see how the meat would cook..!
Korean pork assorted set with galbi samgyeop and mul naengmyeon

The meat we ordered arrived. We got the Korean pork set and added galbi samgyeop (marinated pork belly). Since the Korean pork set comes with doenjang-jjigae, it is truly enough for two women! I only added one more portion because I eat a little more than usual, haha.
Staff-grilled Korean pork neck
One great thing about Yukmong! The staff grill the meat themselves. They cook it at just the right point, as deliciously as possible. It was nice to eat while chatting with my friend, haha. First, they grilled the pork neck.
Honestly, I am not usually a big fan of pork neck when I grill at home or go camping, but Yukmong’s Korean pork neck is completely different. It made me feel as if I were eating beef rather than pork. The juices burst out and kept flowing, and I just could not get tired of the meat—I kept eating it.

Choosing photos was especially difficult this time, haha. Every photo looked delicious, and they kept placing the carefully grilled meat on our plates. It was soooooooooo good ㅠ From now on, pork neck is my number-one menu item.
Light, chewy Korean pork galbi meat

The second dish that surprised me was the galbi meat. I do not normally come across galbi meat, so I was very curious about what it would be like. What is this flavor?! It was not too fatty, light, and chewy—so, so, so delicious that my eyes went wide, haha.

This is a dish you absolutely, absolutely have to try. It is truly delicious. Put the light meat, the doenjang-jjigae that comes with it, and rice into one bite—whoosh—and this is heaven..
Korean pork galbi samgyeop that paired beautifully with mul naengmyeon

The pork belly completed the meal. As a member of the pork-belly-loving nation, it completely answered my question of whether samgyeopsal could evolve any further. The fattiness and clean flavor balanced so well, and every bite popped with juices.

The pork belly was especially amazing with the naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles). I hope you get to experience that magic of adding wasabi, wrapping it in the noodles, and taking a bite.
From the carefully grilled meat and food flowing with juices to the comfortable atmosphere and every refined detail, this restaurant felt absolutely perfect. It is wonderful for a date after visiting Seokchon Lake, and I would strongly recommend it if you are looking for a Korean barbecue restaurant for a group dinner near Seokchon Lake.
