Shell-code 1 eggs for my child's breakfast
If I had to name one thing that absolutely cannot be missing from my fridge, it would of course be eggs. Especially in a home with young children, I think eggs are essential even if there is no rice. Before kindergarten or school, even when they do not eat a proper breakfast, they should have at least steamed egg or a fried egg. Since these are eggs my child eats every day, I cannot help checking the shell code, so I wanted to share Fresh Farmer, which sells eggs I can feel at ease about.

After moving to Foreon, I went to Costco more often than I expected to haul home their shell-code 1 eggs. But Costco is the strange kind of place where I end up spending ₩200,000–₩300,000 every time I go. There were days I made the trip for nothing when egg supplies were short, and more and more days when I could not get shell-code 1 eggs. Then I saw that Fresh Farmer had newly opened in the neighborhood, and after thinking about it for a couple of months, I am now wondering why I did not start subscription deliveries sooner.
Finding it in the Park Foreon shopping complex
This time, I visited the store with a SuperMOM discount. The Foreon shopping-complex paths are complicated, but they kindly explained the way. As a resident, I found it from the explanation that it was in the conveyor-belt sushi restaurant alley toward the central plaza on B1 of Shopping Complex 5. It is right next to Yogurt World after the udon and snack shops, on a busy walkway.
They sometimes offer boiled-egg tastings during the day, and the eggs are nutty and delicious, so elementary-school kids passing by always make sure to get one. Kids' taste buds are really honest, right? If they come specifically to eat a boiled egg, I think it means the egg itself is delicious. My daughter has received so many while passing by that I almost feel sorry about it.

I heard that the person featured in the store advertising is a well-known head dietitian at GS. I think I even saw her on You Quiz on the Block. Rather than a celebrity, someone known in the relevant field appearing in the ads gave me even more confidence.

The store displays photos of free-range henhouses and the grain feed the chickens eat, so you can see them right away. It looked like the chickens eat healthier food than I do. Seeing photos of the chickens living freely and their feed in person made me feel confident.

24-hour self-checkout and a wide range of eggs
Because the store operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, I can stop by during delivery hours or late at night and buy eggs through unattended self-checkout. It is so convenient.

There are not only shell-code 1 and 2 eggs; the selection is further divided into organic, standard free-range, animal-welfare, and more. I heard that grades are also divided according to the type of feed the chickens eat. It is worth looking over if you are someone who checks carefully. Fresh Farmer eggs are also said to be stocked at premium department stores including Shinsegae, Lotte, Galleria, and AK Plaza.

They are premium eggs, so the price range is a little higher. Still, at the Olympic Park Foreon Direct Store, they are available at a special discount, which made the prices feel less burdensome. I also heard there is quite a difference from department-store prices.

You can also buy savory, salty seasoned seaweed brushed with perilla oil and roasted. Whenever I passed the store, the yolk photos made my mouth water. There were also awards on display supporting the eggs' good quality.

Sometimes when I see conventional henhouses in documentaries, I wonder whether eggs laid in that environment can really be good for our health. Fresh Farmer Direct Store eggs are said to be laid by chickens that live in a natural environment and eat good feed, so I could serve them to my child and family without anxiety.

Trying the soft-boiled and free-range fertilized eggs
This time, I brought home shell-code 1 eggs, soft-boiled eggs, and seaweed.

I only learned this time that they sell soft-boiled eggs separately. Everyone has different preferences for how done the yolk should be, and these were cooked at a level that sits somewhere in the middle. I love a fully runny yolk, but it is really hard to boil one that way, and if it is too firm, it gets dry and I cannot eat it. These, though, were moist and perfect with a little salt. The shells peeled easily too, which was nice.

And these are precious shell-code 1 free-range fertilized eggs.

I always separate eggs into good eggs for my child and supermarket eggs for the adults. The package was safely packed with an inner lid so the eggs would not get damaged.

The eggs had Fresh Farmer certification stamped on them, and the final shell-code digit was 1. As an amateur, it is hard for me to judge which eggs are good just by looking, but I do know that at minimum, a firm yolk means freshness. With less-fresh eggs, the yolk can burst the moment you crack it into the pan, right?
Even when I pressed the Fresh Farmer shell-code 1 egg firmly with a spoon, the yolk stayed bouncy and strong. The white also held together in a thick, rounded mound. I have heard that eggs that spread out like water are not good. I compared them with regular supermarket eggs; I did not deliberately use bad eggs, but chose one of the most expensive supermarket options, and I could still feel the difference.

My child, who has a small appetite, will not eat anything else on a morning with no appetite, but always eats one egg before leaving. I think buying and feeding good eggs is much more worthwhile than buying other supplements for my child.

Subscription delivery every Monday
We receive delivery every Monday. Yesterday happened to be delivery day, and when I go out at around 8 p.m., it is always safely delivered in front of the door. I could buy and carry them home myself, but it is difficult for a busy working mom to always keep a well-rounded supply of ingredients. Even one or two eggs can make a meal for a child, so getting good eggs by subscription delivery is truly reassuring.
If you are looking for good eggs that your child and family can eat with peace of mind, you might like to try eggs from Fresh Farmer's Dunchon branch. After trying them, I thought, so this is what good eggs taste like.
