Guro jokbal lunch near Sindorim: The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch
In short
The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch is a jokbal restaurant in Guro, Seoul, about 10 minutes on foot from Sindorim and Guro stations. My sister and I had a ₩50,000-range set and makguksu for lunch, and the jokbal stayed tender and at a good eating temperature right to the last piece. Verdict: a satisfying choice for a hearty lunch or jokbal date.

Even when jokbal is delicious, once it cools down a little, sometimes you suddenly just do not want to reach for it anymore, right? That is why I pay quite a lot of attention to the meat’s temperature and texture when choosing a jokbal place.

This time, I met my sister at Sindorim Station and we went to The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch (더족발 신도림본점) for a lunch date. As we left, we both thought, ah, there is a reason this is the main branch. We genuinely enjoyed every last piece and scraped our plates clean, so let me introduce it!

The Jokbal for a lunch date near Sindorim Station
It is about a 10-minute walk from both Sindorim Station and Guro Station.
I visited for a lunch date from Sindorim Station.
I met my sister at Sindorim Station, and while we were wondering what to eat, we were craving something filling, so we headed here. It is about a 10-minute walk from Guro Station and Sindorim Station, so accessibility was decent too.

There are lots of offices nearby, so I immediately thought it would be a good spot for people working near the stations to come for lunch. They also run a separate lunch menu, so rather than feeling like a jokbal place only for drinks at dinner, it had an atmosphere where you could comfortably have a meal during the day too.

If there are lots of takeout orders, it is a good restaurant—agreed?
While we were there, I could see takeout orders continuously coming in. I found out they offer a takeout discount, so it seemed like lots of people come by to enjoy it comfortably at home too.

Eating at the restaurant was great, but if you live nearby, getting it to go would be a good choice too. Customers kept coming in, but it never felt hectic; the owner responded kindly, which made us feel even more at ease.

Jokbal temperature and texture that stayed good to the end
With jokbal, the temperature really is important.
The biggest disappointment when I ate jokbal elsewhere was when the meat got too cold.

It can be fine at first, but after a few pieces, the fatty parts firm up and your appetite suddenly drops, you know?

But at The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch, it felt like it stayed at a good eating temperature from beginning to end. The lean meat was tender, while the fatty parts were pleasantly chewy, so I kept reaching in with my chopsticks. With jokbal, it is not simply about being warm—the temperature needs to preserve that tender texture. I was definitely very satisfied on that point.

A ₩50,000-range set with makguksu
It was a ₩50,000 set, but the spread was substantial too.
The set we had was in the ₩50,000 range, and considering the portion and composition, it felt like good value.

In particular, at the time of our visit, writing a Naver review got you makguksu (buckwheat noodles), and we could also try cold jokbal salad as a complimentary dish, so it was fun having a little of everything.

Having the spicy, tangy makguksu with the jokbal reset the palate halfway through, so they went really well together. The cold jokbal salad was refreshing too, so the meal finished cleanly without feeling greasy. Still, these complimentary items may change depending on the period, so it would be good to check when you visit.
After trying it, I understood why it is the main branch
These days, quite a few places make a jokbal meal feel expensive. Here, there are options from lunch dishes to set menus, and I was pleased with both the meat and the service, so it did not feel like money wasted.

As I chatted with my sister while we ate, at some point our plates were genuinely clean. We cleared everything, and I would like to come back next time we meet in Sindorim.
Not having makguksu with jokbal should be a crime
Just eating jokbal was not going to cut it, so we ordered makguksu. Look at this..!!!! Look at this..!!!! Look at this..!!!!

The makguksu was already mixed up and completely red-red,,, it was seriously delicious. I immediately split it into two and slurped it up with the jokbal. Hehe.

We ate the makguksu, jokbal, and even bossam (boiled pork wraps), and it was so delicious that I wanted it again.

If you are looking for a workers’ lunch spot near Guro Station or Sindorim Station, or want a hearty jokbal meal on a date, I recommend trying The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch.
