Han River season is back! Is everyone heading to the river these days?! Wanting to visit Yeouido Hangang Park again after a while, I went looking for good food in Yeouido and found this izakaya — Robadayakki Sodam.

Robadayakki Sodam Yeouido Branch is open daily from 17:00 to 01:30 the next day. We came via Yeouido Station on Line 5, and it took about 5-10 minutes on foot. It's near a café we go to often, so it was easy to find!

Seating at Robadayakki Sodam is split into table and counter (dacchi) seats. The table seats are nicely separated, good for chatting, while the counter seats let you watch the skewers being grilled — more fun to watch!

Yeouido has tons of restaurants and bars that office workers flock to, and this day we were looking for somewhere a bit more relaxed to eat and have a drink, so this turned out to be exactly the right pick. With such a varied menu, it's a great spot to combine dinner and drinks!

Robadayakki Sodam's set 2 comes with mixed skewers + mixed fritters, so I liked being able to try many items at once. A great combo to order when two people want to eat a bit of everything!

There were many kinds of skewers, so it was fun picking through them one by one. As I recall, there was chicken skin, pork shoulder, mushroom, shrimp, whole garlic, and more. The skewers especially had that grilled-over-charcoal flavor added on, so they were great to just pick up and eat one after another. The chicken skin was grilled golden and savory on the outside, and the pork shoulder had juicy, clean flavor the more you chewed it.

The vegetable skewers, like mushroom and whole garlic, in between kept things from feeling too greasy, and the shrimp had that springy texture still intact — seafood lovers would enjoy it.

Five kinds of fritters, and the croquette that won me over

Robadayakki Sodam's mixed fritters also went really well as a drinking snack. Fried crisp, they were especially good eaten warm, and being a different feel from the skewers made it fun to order a variety of dishes!! This fritter lover fell for the croquette that day..!!!

The fritters were about five kinds: croquette, fried shrimp, chicken gara-yake, fried oyster, and fried baby octopus(?).

Does Nagasaki jjamppong go with the skewers and fritters?

More than anything, the Nagasaki jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) we ordered that day paired really well ㅠㅠ While working through the skewers and fritters, you naturally start craving something warm with broth, and that's when ordering a Nagasaki jjamppong hits the spot. (I went back and forth between seafood ramyeon and Nagasaki jjamppong about five hundred thousand times, but Nagasaki won out in the end!!)

The broth was spicy yet had that clean, refreshing seafood taste, so it worked great as a drinking snack too! Spooning up the broth bit by bit, I naturally ended up alternating between skewers and fritters again — I was full but finished it all. If you're visiting with a group, ordering one Nagasaki jjamppong to share alongside skewers or fritters would work nicely too haha.

Personally, when I look for Japanese food or izakayas in Yeouido, I prefer places with a wide range from drinking snacks to full meals rather than somewhere focused on just one or two items, and Robadayakki Sodam was good on that front too!
