Daegu izakaya by Jungangno Station: yakitori and Asahi at Naiba Hutto
In short
Gyodong Naiba Hutto is a yakitori izakaya on the corner of Gongpyeong intersection in Jung-gu, Daegu, about 700m from Exit 2 of Jungangno Station. Two couples, four people in all after work, ordered the set of 7 yakitori skewers with sake-steamed clams for 32,000 won, added pasta noodles to the clam broth for 3,000 won, and drank Asahi draft beer. Gyodong Naiba Hutto is an easy Daegu choice for a Friday night of charcoal-grilled skewers and cold draft beer.

Hi :) It's Gaemi 🐜, the host of Healing Camp~ Today, after work, I went with a couple of friend-couples to a Daegu Gyodong izakaya — a Daegu Gyodong bar called 'Gyodong Naiba Hutto.'
Where is Gyodong Naiba Hutto, and when is it open?
Address – 634 Gukchebosang-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu / Hours – Daily 18:00–01:30 / Parking – X

This is the entrance of Gyodong Naiba Hutto, a Daegu Gyodong izakaya and Daegu Gyodong bar. It's about 700m from Exit 2 of Jungangno Station, Line 1. It sits right on the corner of Gongpyeong intersection in Daegu, with an atmospheric vibe that's easy to spot at a glance.

If you order 3 glasses of Asahi draft before 8pm, you get 1 more glass free.

Inside Gyodong Naiba Hutto: mood and seating
This is the interior of Gyodong Naiba Hutto, a Daegu Gyodong izakaya and Daegu Gyodong bar. Japanese text and posters are pasted all over the place, giving it the feeling of a genuinely Japanese-style izakaya. Besides the solo-friendly bar counter seats, there are also table seats great for friends or couples.
These days with the cooler weather, the outdoor terrace seats are also popular.
You can hang your jacket on the coat rack.
For the restrooms, check the map and password — go out of the store, turn left, and they're on the shared central staircase's 1.5th floor.

The skewers are grilled over charcoal fire right when you order, and at the bar counter seats you can watch them being grilled in person.

Here are the signature dishes: clam sake-steam and mentaiko cream pasta.

Check the origin labels for the various ingredients.

Menu and prices: what four of us ordered
This is the menu of Gyodong Naiba Hutto, a Daegu Gyodong izakaya and Daegu Gyodong bar.
7-kind yakitori + clam sake-steam: ₩32,000 / Pasta noodle add-on: ₩3,000 / Asahi draft 3+1: ₩24,000
We ordered the 7-kind yakitori + clam sake-steam along with a glass of Asahi draft each.

The basic side dish is cabbage drizzled with shio-tare sauce.

Once our order was ready, a staff member brought it right to our table.

What comes in the 7-skewer charcoal yakitori set?
First up, the 7-kind yakitori grilled over charcoal. Wasabi comes with the yakitori order, so you can add it to taste.
You can choose between 5 kinds and 7 kinds of yakitori, and the composition may change depending on stock. There were four of us, so we ordered the 7-kind set, which consisted of thigh meat with green onion, skin, drumstick, neck meat, knee cartilage, wing, and heart. We pulled everything off the skewers and shared piece by piece — each part came seasoned already, and the different textures were really appealing.

Adding pasta noodles to the sake-steamed clams
Next is the piping hot clam sake-steam, a perfect side dish for soju.

It's a soup dish made by simmering clams, surf clams, and pink cockles in a mussel broth base that's been cooked for a long time. It's great to enjoy warm these days with the chilly weather.
While eating the clam sake-steam, add pasta noodles. When you add the noodles, the staff take the whole pot away, boil it, and bring it back. The pasta noodles were nice and chewy, well soaked in the sake-steam broth — really delicious.

Each of us sipped a cold glass of Asahi draft, ate delicious side dishes, and spent a good Friday night.
If you're looking for a Daegu Gyodong izakaya, try the charcoal-scented yakitori at 'Gyodong Naiba Hutto,' a Daegu Gyodong bar :)
