My sister and I had a nice dinner in Gangnam and went for something sweet after at Something About Coffee, a café near Gangnam Station!
There was a mouthwatering poster for hojicha choux milk tea right at the café entrance, and it called out to me directly, haha — so I got that while my sister went for tea!

We arrived around 7pm on a weekday. Since it's such a big café near Gangnam Station, I figured it'd be a bit quieter in the evening... but nope, all three floors were packed!
Seating on floors 1 to 3 at Something About Coffee
There's seating right on the 1st floor as you walk in, and the soft lighting makes it a really comfortable spot to sit, haha.
Head up the stairs to the 2nd floor and you'll find the order counter and dessert display case! You grab a seat and order here, haha. There's a big window wall so it doesn't feel cramped, and the white tones mixed with a vintage touch make the space feel romantic and full of atmosphere.
Go up another floor and you get a totally different vibe with more seating and a terrace space❣️ Lots of couples on dates, groups of friends chatting away, and even people alone with laptops open, working or studying — it seemed great whether you're coming for a date, a hangout with friends, a solo café trip, or to get work done, haha.
The 2nd and 3rd floors both have outdoor terrace seating, and once it got cooler in the evening a lot of people were using it, haha.

When we went down to order, there was everything from cakes to scones, cookies, and baked treats — so many options and every single one looked delicious, so I stood there for ages trying to decide!
Something About Coffee makes its desserts in-house and has a wide range of fruit-based desserts, so it really hits the spot for fruit lovers!
There were cakes made with mango and other seasonal fruit, and lots of people were taking fruit sandwiches to go!

Peach cheesecake with whole nectarine flesh

A dense yet moist cheesecake topped with sweet, tangy peach — this peach cheesecake was fresh and soft at the same time. The peach flesh was real nectarine, so the sweet-tart flavor tasted like a cool summer day☀️ It's not artificial peach flavoring, it's actual fruit, so it felt high-quality and upscale👏
Ang-butter scone: sweet and salty with whole red bean bits
Ang-butter scone
Crispy outside, crumbly inside — this scone had sweet red bean paste and savory butter layered in for a perfectly balanced sweet-and-salty combo, haha. You could bite into whole red bean pieces in the paste, and the butter melted in your mouth adding even more richness — I kept reaching for more! It's the kind of taste I'd want to take home and share with family, haha.
Rosehip cherry tea: a warm cup with a rose note

Since the desserts were sweet, my sister picked a warm rosehip cherry tea. It was tangy and tart, almost like hibiscus, but with a rose aroma that made it feel a bit more elegant🤩 One bite of sweet dessert followed by a sip of this crisp, clean tea and your palate feels totally refreshed◡̈
Hojicha choux milk tea: hojicha foam with a mini choux on top
Hojicha choux milk tea
A fragrant Earl Grey milk tea topped with nutty hojicha foam, and right on top sits one adorable mini choux pastry, haha.
Hojicha is made from roasted tea leaves, so it has less of that green, grassy taste than regular green tea and a much stronger toasty, roasted aroma! The sweet hojicha cream and the Earl Grey flavor went together so well — I was totally satisfied!
The choux on top was also so, so good, haha. The cold, soft cream melts like ice cream and the hojicha cream flavor rushes right in after — absolutely delicious.
Who should visit Something About Coffee
I really recommend the hojicha choux milk tea👍 It's perfect from the visuals to the taste, something anyone from kids to grandparents would love — nutty and sweet, that says it all, haha. The other desserts were great too, so I'd love to come back again~~
