Right then this amazing roasted coffee smell drew us in like a magnet, and we ended up at a Starfield Suwon favorite, Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch (정지영커피로스터즈 스타필드수원점). ☕

There's the usual dark roast, of course, but also decaf beans for anyone who can't have caffeine. 🫘 Each bean comes with a flavor note and you can actually sample the scent, so it's easy to pick something to your taste. The beans are also sold separately, which is great for gifts or for brewing at home. 🎁 What really caught my eye, though, was the signature coconut coffee — apparently they've sold 1.11 million cups of it and it's even patented. 🥥 I was already excited before even trying it haha.

Looking around inside this Suwon favorite for coffee, there's a wide range of seating — solo seats for those coming alone, up to big group tables. 🪑 The warm, cozy wood interior gives the whole space a really soulful feel, like you've stepped into one of those quiet, atmospheric cafés in Haenggung-dong. 🌿

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee is a brand that actually started in Suwon's Haenggung-dong! Kind of like 'I LOVE NY' or 'Welcome to Jeju,' it's built on genuine love for the region where it was born and raised, and you can feel that affection for Suwon everywhere in the store. 🏰 One side of the shop sells all kinds of Suwon-themed goods, which is fun to browse while waiting for your drink. ✨

Peeking into the dessert case, there's a good lineup of cakes like melon cake and Basque cheesecake, plus cookies, madeleines, and peanut sandwiches to go with your drink. 🍰 We'd already eaten so we just had drinks this time, but next time I'll definitely pair it with dessert haha.

How's the signature coconut coffee? Before and after stirring

Here's the coconut coffee I ordered at this Suwon café. Even the cup holder is full of character and so pretty. 📸

Once I peeled off the holder, I could see a milk-white, smooth coconut base at the bottom with the bitter espresso layered prettily on top. The layered look is so pretty. ✨ First I tried a sip through the straw without stirring. The rich, bitter coffee flavor hits first and settles in heavy, then the smooth, sweet coconut flows right behind it — deep and full-bodied. ☕

Then I stirred it well with the straw and took another sip. That distinctive nutty, sweet coconut aroma spreads through your whole mouth, blending beautifully with the espresso. 🥥 It's not an artificial, over-the-top sweetness — just the right, pleasant kind of sweet that you can keep drinking without feeling weighed down! The portion is generous too, so by the time I finished I was surprisingly full haha. It totally makes sense why they've sold 1.11 million cups and got a patent — it really is a special flavor.

This is the strawberry latte our kid picked. 🍓 Jeong Jiyeong Coffee has a good variety of non-coffee drinks for people who can't drink coffee or for kids, which makes it a great spot to visit as a family. 👍

Once the holder came off, you could actually see the sweet strawberry syrup sitting under the white milk! The big chunks of strawberry flesh made it clear they use real, carefully-made homemade syrup. 🥛 Stirred well with the straw, it turned into a delicate, pretty baby pink color, and the taste matched the pretty color perfectly. 💕 The mild, natural sweetness plus the texture of actual strawberry chunks made it feel as fresh and satisfying as drinking real fruit juice. Our kid loved it too and finished the whole thing. 😋
