Gangnam scalp micropigmentation for a thinning crown: Doteurak

This time I went to Doteurak, which people say is great for scalp micropigmentation in Gangnam!! Personally, this is such an exciting, major post. It was the day this mama’s girl did something big for her mom!!

Right in hectic central Gangnam, Doteurak—famous for scalp micropigmentation—is in this kind of building near Apgujeong Rodeo. I wandered around looking for it for ages.

Doteurak is on the fourth floor!! They even have valet parking ♥︎ There’s a little parking booth across from the building; just let them know when you get there. It’s ₩5,000 per hour, and it seemed to be the cheapest parking around. Holding Mom’s hand, we headed up with fluttery hearts.

The reason we came to Doteurak was that lately Mom kept saying, “I think I’ve become an old lady—my crown looks so sparse ㅠㅠ,” and getting so upset..... Even with a sparse crown, even if she went bald, my mom would still be so beautiful... But seeing her down broke this mama’s girl’s heart, so I started frantically searching: Where’s good for scalp micropigmentation in Gangnam... Is there somewhere good for scalp micropigmentation in Jamsil.....

The place I finally found was Doteurak. Lots of celebrities had been there, they had extensive treatment experience and plenty of reviews, and above all, I heard the director(?) was a leading authority on scalp micropigmentation in Korea, so it felt trustworthy. And he’s sooo handsome.. (twice the trust).

I was startled the moment we walked in. Hahahahahaha. H-hello? As you’d expect from a famous place—and a Gangnam flagship—the facilities were impeccably clean! The consultation rooms had such a nice vibe too, with a private atmosphere.

At reception, they gave us a pre-treatment questionnaire, so we could carefully check what Mom was concerned about and what treatment she wanted before the consultation.

There was also this little area on one side where you could wash your hands, check the mirror, and have tea. Mom looked a little nervous. Me: “Mom, are you nervous?” Mom: “Yeah... Will it hurt?” Hahahahaha. My adorable mom, even well past fifty.

We started the consultation with the director in the consultation room! He asked about Mom’s usual part and hairstyle, then carefully checked the area to be treated. The treatment is done over three sessions, spaced 2–3 weeks apart! Drumroll, it’s quite a journey.

Actually, on my mom’s side of the family, our back part runs really far down. My mom, my maternal grandmother, two aunts, and even I all have parts that run down to the lower back of our heads, so people sometimes mistake it for hair loss ㅠㅠ

The director explained everything so diligently. He was incredibly kind and detailed about the characteristics of her part and scalp micropigmentation precautions!

After the consultation, we moved to the photo room and took pictures like this! To compare the before and after, right? ㅠㅠ Mom’s crown was so sparse. Mom had such thick hair when she was young, but she worked so hard raising me... I’ll fill it in for you, Mom.. (??)

After the photos, we were shown into the treatment room. I was expecting a chilly, hospital-style room, but no—what was this? It was like a super cozy boss’s office(?) A plush chair like a boss’s chair and soft lighting welcomed us!

It made her look much less nervous and more comfortable. Mom said: “It feels like I came for a massage...”

This chair could be adjusted up and down like a recliner, and it looked so comfortable that I said, “I want one in my house...” The director said everyone says that at least once hahaha.

It looked painful... “Mom, does it hurt?” But she said the crown area didn’t hurt much. The director also checked on her condition throughout and proceeded very carefully!!! The crown scalp micropigmentation took about an hour? The director’s hands were seriously fast... Apparently it was half the usual working time..!

After the treatment.. Her face is mosaicked, but Mom is grinning right now. I guess she found it fun... She said it hurt more toward the forehead, but her eyes still looked expectant somehow. Mom is cute.

After the treatment, they explain things while you look in the mirror. Aftercare and all that! Scalp micropigmentation doesn’t end with just one session; Mom is scheduled for three sessions total. They explained the whole process ahead too.

Since I was researching this for Mom, I think I found the very best place.. haha. And!! The cost was reasonable, and they explained in detail how the price was calculated too!

As we left, I thought once again that we had come to the essence of scalp micropigmentation. Hehe. I finally did something nice for Mom ♥︎ Truly, Mom and I were 200% satisfied, and we’re currently waiting for her second treatment.
