Say Euljiro and you probably think of hip bars and old-school hole-in-the-wall joints, but this time I went to a proper dining spot! It's Pyu Euljiro, and I'd recommend it as a Euljiro date place. Warm wood tones, soft lighting and stylish fabric decor... the vibe is so good 🤎

It's close to the station, so it's easy to reach by public transport. Among Euljiro's old alleys, the clean, stylish exterior of Pyu Euljiro really catches your eye! The P hEW logo glows softly at the entrance, and you can catch a glimpse of the interior through the full-length glass.

What is the interior of Pyu Euljiro like?

The interior of Pyu Euljiro is a warm wood-tone space of cream walls, solid wood furniture and indirect lighting. The wood tone was the first thing I noticed the moment I walked in, and with the soft light coming down, the vibe is so good 🤎

The fabric decor drifting down from the ceiling was especially impressive. It's not an interior you see every day, so the space itself felt like an artwork, like a small gallery.

There's a long table in the middle of the room, with 2-person and 4-person seats around it. Plants and flower decor are placed here and there too 🌷 The whole place feels warm and calm, so it'd be great for a slow meal and a good chat.

Fabric-partitioned seats for dates and blind dates

What I personally noticed most were the seats separated by fabric partitions! They're not fully private rooms, but the space is separated from the next table to a degree, so you get a more private feel.

If you're looking for a Euljiro date or blind date spot, seats like these are surprisingly important, right? 🤭 The spacing between tables doesn't feel cramped, and the interior is so pretty that photos would probably turn out well wherever you sit! The window side gets natural light, so I think it'd be lovely during the day too.

Besides pasta and risotto, there are lots of dishes that go well with wine, so I spent a moment agonizing in front of the menu 🤔

The wine list covers red, white, sparkling and rosé. And especially, one bottle of corkage is free! 🍷 Being able to bring your favorite wine and enjoy it with good food is a nice perk.

The first things out at Pyu Euljiro were two drinks: the passion fruit ade and the pink peach sherbet (₩6,500 each).

The passion fruit ade has passion fruit pulp at the bottom of a clear glass, plus a lemon slice on top, so it's full of freshness just from the look 🍋

The pink peach sherbet 🌸 has fresh flowers on top of the pink sherbet. Fresh flowers on a drink?! This is so pretty... The purple flowers are the accent, so it feels less like a drink and more like a tiny bouquet! If you like pretty drinks on a date, the look of this pink peach sherbet is one I'd recommend.

Ragu pasta (₩25,000)

The first dish was Pyu Euljiro's ragu pasta! I was told the ragu sauce is simmered for over 12 hours with beef, pork, duck and beef shank. Unlike a regular tomato pasta, it's packed with meat sauce! The ragu and cheese sit on wide noodles, and it looked pretty appetizing.

The noodles are wider than ordinary spaghetti, so they look great for soaking up plenty of sauce. With the long-simmered ragu as the star, it's a dish for people who love rich meaty flavor!

Truffle mushroom risotto piled with mushrooms (₩26,000)

The second dish was the truffle mushroom risotto! It's described as a truffle risotto using 3 kinds of mushrooms and 3 cooking methods. But the first thing that caught my eye when it arrived was

how generously the mushrooms were piled on! 🍄 Thinly sliced mushrooms cover the whole risotto, with cheese sprinkled over the top.

When I scooped in with a spoon, there were roasted mushrooms hiding inside too. You get the textures of several mushrooms in creamy risotto! If you love the truffle and mushroom combo, I recommend it, haha.

Grilled yuzu chicken thigh (₩28,000)

Last was the yuzu chicken thigh! Charcoal-grilled chicken thigh that you dip in a refreshing yuzu ponzu sauce. The plating alone grabs your attention 🌼

Ruffle-like vegetables, herbs and even tiny petals sit on top of the golden grilled chicken thigh. Food this pretty 🤍 At first the chicken was hidden under the vegetables, but when I pushed them aside, there was the nicely browned thigh! The grill marks look appetizing and there seems to be plenty of sauce alongside.

The savory charcoal-grilled flavor with a tangy yuzu ponzu sauce, what a combo! Ordered alongside rich dishes like the ragu pasta and the risotto, you get to enjoy very different charms.
